Wayne Owens released annual Report of Office a semi Activities and Spending detailing office spending, operations, and activities since taking office. Categories reported on include Owens voting record, bills sponsored, staff and office expenses, as well as such items as days spent in the district, town meetings held, mail and telephone calls handled and volunteer assistance. This follows a Disclosure of Personal Finances released by the Congressman in recent weeks. I pledged in the campaign to be open about my activities and finances, and said that I would use my resources to the limit to serves the people of my district. In addition to my personal financial disclosure, which I have already released and will continue to release annually as long as I am. in office, I intend to release reports detailing the activities and expenses of my office every six months. Owens, who has three district offices, has spent $14,288 of his $15,000 allowance for furniture the and equipment including value of that inherited from his predecessor. He has spent nearly the full amount allotted to date for salareis of staff, $82,547.37. The report indicates that Rep. Owens has spent 47 days in Utah averaging 8 days per month. In his campaign Owens promised to spend at least 1 week a month in the district. During that time he has held 14 town meetings, 2 public legislative forums, and 12 Meet your Congressman meetings. He has visited every county at least once. The report shows that a total of 16 interns have worked or are presently working in the four offices, at no expense to the and many volunteers serve in the district offices. The office reports having become involved in 519 individual ''cases involving constituents requesting some form of help.
