Show Pago Two THE SALT LAKE TIMES FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 1972 Mountain fuel Makes Successful Drill Stem No further drill stem tests have been made at the successful Brady Unit No. 1 wildcat well in southwestern Wyoming where earlier last month the discovery of commercial quantities of oil and natural gas were reported, but drilling is continuing, it was reported by B. Z. Kastler, president of Mountain Fuel Supply. Announcement of the discovery was reported by Champlin Petroleum Co. on Oct. 9 and 10 and showed that during a drill stem test a calculated rate oi 2600 barrels per day of 52 gravity oil and nearly 1500 cubic ft. of gas per barrel were gauged in a one half inch choke. The test was made at about 90 feet into the Nugget formation. Drilling is continuing and the formation has now been penetrated a total of slightly over 500 feet. Projected depth of the well is 16,500 feet in the J Madison-formation- . Analysis of the natural gas prodwuced during the drill stem test indicated 55 per cent noncombustible gases and a Btu heat content of 738. In an earlier drill stem test in the Dakota formation between 10,860 and 11,033 feet where natural gas gauged at 1,350,000 cubic feet a day, an analysis indicated only 2 percent inert or noncombustible gases, with a calculated Btu content of 1146. Champlin is drilling the Brady well as operator for a group consisting of itself, Mountain Fuel and Amoco Production Co., of Tulsa, Okla. Ownership in the well and in a pooled area of about 13,760 acres around the well site is shared 41.25 each by Champlin and Mountain Fuel, and 17.50 by Amoco. Mountain Fuel Supply Company board of directors declared a quarterly dividend of 45c per share on its common stock and $2 a share on its preferred. Smith 1430 South Hale Grantsvllle, Utah Dear John: The news of your loss in the recent election was a shock to all members of the Legislature. Your dedication and service as a member of the House of Representatives of your State Legislature has been more than outstanding. I know of no other Leg-slatwho has been more dedi-:ate- d and more effective in fulfilling his committee assignment and rapresenting his district than you have been. During the time you have served as Vice Chairman of our Legislative Study Committees on the Legislative Council I have been most impressed by your effectiveness and thoroughness in preparing legislation to be acted upon by the coming Legislative Session. The modifications in the child labor laws and laws that will aid the handicapped need your guidance to become effective in the coming Legislative Session. Your ability to fairly represent the people of your area transcends or party politics. The fact that my own party chose deliberately not to run anyone against you was a tribute to your statesmanship and ability to be a successful legislator. Such a close race demands a second look by the people in your area, especially in view of the small turn out in the recent primary election. I believe the voice of the people of your district can best be heard by the serious consideration of a write-i- n campaign in your behalf. Party politics must be placed aside for the good of the entire state in matters such as this. May I sincerely urge that you give serious consideration to the possibility of letting your name be Pheasant Hunters placed in candidacy for a write-i- n 11 Look to Nov. campaign in the coming general election.
