In the first seven mural covering the entire wall a mural of Moses with the Ten Commandments, entitled Lawgiver. As we used to walk those stairs each morning to the law school on the second floor, this painting served to remind us that ours was a rule of law of unalienable rights, and not a rule of men. Today I appreciate more fully the meaning of that painting and the idea that the Ten Commandments are in fact a great law of liberty. Like the Declaration of Independence and in a day when wings and pharoahs held sove- reign power over their subjects and the people had only those rights and freedoms granted by the rulers, the Ten Commandments established a new order of things a new law of liberty. The Ten Commandments said that (1) God is supreme and there are no others before Him; (2) life, liberty and property are unalienable rights, not to be granted or taken away by the whim of some king, as emboided in Thou shalt not Thou shalt not steal, and kill, Thou shalt not covet. If a man's life or his earnings are not his own to keep, if they can be taken from him at the whim or pleasure of another man, a dictator, then that man is slave and not free. From the notes of Thomas Jefferson, made at the time he wrote the Declaration of Independence, It is clear that the terms Pursuit of Happiness and Liberty included or implied the right to keep what you earn, to own and hold private property. Thomas Jefferson tells a story as retold by Gov. Reagan, of a rather miraculous assist on the day of our nations birth. Aroused by his oratory the God-give- SHOW TIME: Crowds swarm thrcugh one of the many new mobile homes that was displayed at last years Utah Mobile Home, Travel Trailer and Motor Home Show'. The third annual show opens on Sept. 8 at the Salt Palace and will run through the 10th with nearly twice the amount of exhit its as seen in previous years. What could be more fun for most women than to be turned loose in over 150 beautifully decorated homes? Thats exactly what theyll find at the third annual Utah Mobile Home and Motor Home Show Sept. at the Salt Palace. Dozens of factory fresh mobile homes, many never seen 8-- 10 publicly before, will be on display, fully furnished and decorated. Everything from a standard 12 ft. wide homes up to the increasingly popular 24 ft. double wides will be exhibited. All homes will be open for in- spection. While Mom is day dreaming her way through these mobiles homes, filling her notebook of decorator ideas and picking out the one shed like to have, Dad will probably be found trying out the drivers seat of one of the many new recreational vehicles that will also be on display. Hell be able to choose from a wide selection, of 1973 motor homes, travel trailers, campers, mini homes, fifth wheel units or Part-ti-me Full-ti- me other RVs. The Show will feature twice as many mobile homes and RVs this year as in previous shows. Mobile home displays, in fact, have spilled over into the Salt Palace parking lot, in addition to the ones in the Exhibit Hall. The show gives Utahns an opportunity to see the very latest in mobile homes and RVs in one place, says Edward Greenband, producer of the event. For the persons shopping for a home or recreational . vehicle, a trip to the show' will save them hours of time that they would have had to spend visiting dealerships all around the state, not to mention the money they can save by taking advantage of the special low prices most of the exhibitors will offer during the show. It pays to go to meetings. n, re-establ- ish associa- Booth Wallentine The Intermountain Farmers Association will hold its annual membership meeting on Friday, Sept. 8, at the Ramada Inn in Salt Lake City. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. The business meeting will commence at 10, with the presidents report. Members and interested persons are invited to attend. Booth Wallentine, Director of Environmental Resources for the Iowa Farm Bureau, will be the luncheon speaker. Mr. Wallentine was named to this position on Oct. 1, 1971. He directs the organizations activities on environmental resources. Booth is the author of Accent a personal commentary on current issues, which is broadcast statewide, printed as a newspaper column and distributed on subscription to Iowa business leaders. He has served as direcservices and as tor of radio-Tdirector of information services since joining the Iowa Farm Bureau staff in June 1965. Raised on a cattle ranch in Southern Idaho, Booth Wallentine holds a degree in agricultural economics from Utah State University. Following graduation he was research assistant at the Utah State Agricultural Experiment Station. He is also a bishop in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints, has been selected for listing in Whos Who in the Midwest, and is president of the nationwide Mormon Pioneer Trail Foundation. He is active in his political party and is a member of several professional associations. Mr. Wallentine and his wife have two sons and a daughter. Some housing authorities predicted the pace of homebuilding nationally would slide off the second half of the year. There are no signs of a slow down in Utah as the demand remains strong.
