The federally funded program s being coordinated by the Utah State Board of Education. Its purpose is to offer Utah educators personalized access to research data that will open numerous opportunities to meet the educational needs of Utah stuprovide s, Low-Modera- te In-alo- ng dents. In practice, the Technical Assistance to Rural schools program makes the fruits of current educational available to 25 of Utahs 40 school districts. Topics available to district personnel range from abstract reasoning to youth problems. n After the agent and teacher decided which information had looked most approprinate for the schools special situation, a formal request would be made for the schools special situation, a formal request would be made for the materials through Kathy Wallentine, Reference Center, Manager, Utah, State Board of Education. She in turn, starts the machinery rolling to collect the desired research from different outlets located in the U.S. Then, when the information is collected, it is sent to the agent who brings it to the teacher or administrator who originally requested it. But the program does not end with the delivery of the research materials. The agent continues to act as a consultant to the person who requested the information. The teacher who requested the math materials, for instance would receive help from the agent, or from a consultant assigned from the Utah State Board check on the speedometer .Dont I William G. Use this lane to match speed with other vehicles on the freeway and merge with it smoothly. A driver on the freeway should adjust his speed to permit the oncoming car to merge easily. Leave the freeway in the same manner, using the decelreation lane to slow down. There is often a great reduction of speed required for the exit ramp. Remember that it is often difficult to adjust to conventional speeds after several hours of high speed freeway driving. Watch your interval, dont follow to closely. The standard rule of one car length for every 10 miles an hour of speed is not sufficient on freeways. Freeways aim for a uniform speed; many have a minimum as well as maximum limits. During long distance trips, one has a tendency to let his speed creep up without noticing it. Check the speedometer frequently. If you wish to drive the minimum allowable speed, general 40 or 45 miles an hour, stay in the right hand lane. In multi-lan- e roads, keeping in the right hand lane is advis able, hut not mandatory especially where there are three lanes in the same direction. On some wider roads, passing is done on both right and left. Keep to one lane as much as possible. When changing lanes, check the rear view mirror and glance over your left shoulder for cars hidden in the blind spot. Make sure the lane is clear and give plenty of warning with a turn ar-th- Senators' Excessive Absenteeism Not Excusable; Nor is Agnew's nt Sen-reta- 1 I Beth-Communi- ty ur re-electi- on mid-January- ry |
