The essays were very interesting and Offered officials a good insight on just which exhibits the youth liked. The worlds finest Bourbon since 1795 rent regulations Inquiries continue to lead the questions asked the Internal Revenue Service on the Economic Stabilization Program according to Roland V. Wise, IRS District Director for Utah. Rent questions have totaled nearly half of the inquiries throughout the nation. Mr. Wise explained that the most common question has concerned raising residential rents. Mr. Wise urged landlords to delay any immediate action on rent increases until the Rent Advisory Board and Price Commission have developed specific guidelines for Phae II rent stabilization. The Director said that the Rent Board is currently meeting to formulate recommendations for consideration by the Commission. These recommendations will include clarification and revisions of the existing regulations as well as new guidelines and policy on rents. The Price Commission has promised quick action on the Rent Advisory Boards recommendation, Mr. Wise said. He cautioned landlords that roll backs of increased rent might be necessary if those rents are not consistent with the new policy. The Director reminded the public that if they have any questions on the Economic Control Program, they can get answers or interpretations by calling their nearest Internal Revenue Service office and speaking to the Taxpayer Service Representative. Hunters Warned About Wasting Meat meat is illegal, Wasting game to Utah wildlife laws, according which allow donation of unwanted meat to another person. John Nagel, State Wildlife Law Enforcement Chief, reminds hunters it is illegal to waste or permit to be wasted or spoiled any protected wildlife or part of them. Once a hunter gains possession of a game animal, he is responsible for its proper use. Donation of a game animal is permitted, provided it is accompanied by a donation slip. The slip must state what protected wildlife or portion has been donated, date of donation, wildlife license number, and signature of the donor. Warnings to roadside dumpers of unwanted game animals have been issued by health authorities, who recommend transporting remains of animals to garbage dumps or adequate burial. However, wildlife officers will prosecute waters of game meat, regardless of where it is dumped. Female of the Species Sturdier Than Male, Scientists Claim Noted endocrinologist Estelle Ramey, in answer to surgeon Edgar F. Bermans statement that women are unfit for top jobs, has reported, The female of the species, any species, is sturdier than the made from the moment of conception to the last hurrah. Dr. Berman, friend and adviser of Hubert Humphrey and onetime State Department consultant on Latin American health problems, told a group of Democrats that women, with their raging hormonal inbalances, were too unstable to be trusted with high positions of responsibility. Dr. Ramsey asserted, I was startled to read Dr. Bermans attempt to give the ancient concept of womans predestined inferiority a firm scientific basis. He suggested that if women, with their raging hormones, were allowed to make really important decisions, our perfect made run society would be plunged into a female morass of racial strife, air pollution, inflation, student riots, wars, famine, hijackings and midiskirts. The mind boggles. Just what would have happened at the Bay of Pigs, asked Dr. Berman, if a woman had been in control? All I (Dr. Ramey) can ask is what did happen? And who was in control? Dr. Ramey, a professor of physiology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., then added, I know that when it comes to survival, it should have been a Frenchwoman rather than a Frenchman who cried, Vive la difference! Men have the big musicles, but in th game of durability their delicate wives hold the protoplasmic aces. Any insurance actuary knows that men collapse faster under the psychic and physical stresses of living. Men are a dear and wonderful tribe and they often make great husbands and fathers, but we all must face the fact that genetically they are the waker sex. That Y chromosome of theirs is, literally, almost a blank, Dr. Ramey said. The author points out that extensive federal studies in every job category show that women take off less time from work (including pregnancy leaves) than me do. Women have the pain of menstruation, but men have endocrine ailments, i.e. impotence, infertility, pituitary disease). She asks why. it is that there are so few women who achieve professional distinction? Only 6.7 per cent of practicing physicians, 3 per cent of lawyers and 1 per cent of our U.S. Senators are women. Is the female I.Q. lower? Dr. Ramey says no, but she adds that these facts are directly related to the way we bring up the boys and girls. We encourage even the smallest boy to innovate, but we praise little girls for conforming. by definition, is nonconformity and brains need to be exercised, she writes. Supporting the ideas of todays Womens Liberation Movement, the author concludes, Women have only realized their full potential in painfully small numbers. Womens Liberation wont produce a million female Jeffer-con- s and Einsteins. But just one such woman might change the world, and we must make it easy for her to surface and for all her sisters to use the talents they have as they choose. Cre-atiivit- Pvt. William A.
