They are on A Sun and Nine Planets and Stars, Galaxies and Quasars. A Sun and Nine Planets, designed for junior high school students, will concentrate on the characteristics and motions of bodies in the solar system. The classes will meet from June 5 through July 1 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. One evening of observing using telescopes of the Planetarium will be scheduled once class is under way. Stars, Galaxies and Quasars, developed for senior high school students, will deal with objects beyond our own solar system. Two topics of particular interest will be the possibility of life beyond the earth and the internal workings of stars. Classes will meet from June through July 2 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9 to 11 a.m. Two observing sessions using Planetarium telescopes will be scheduled once the class begins. Oil, Gas Leases Sealed Bids Called Sealed bids to be opened June 9 by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management will determine issuance of oil and gas leases for 2,460 acres of land in Grand and San Juan counties. Robert D. Nielson, BLM state director for Utah, said bids will be accepted for 12 parcels of land within a half dozen fields: San Aroyo, Westwater, Harley Dome, Broken Hills, Bluff Bench and two unnamed fields. They vary in size from 40 to 640 acres. Bids will be accepted by BLM until June 9 at 2 p.m. at which time they will be opened in 8103 Federal Building.
