Rasmussen, professor and head of the department of economics at the University of Utah, will deliver the 1966 Reynolds Lecture on Jan. 27 at 8:15 p.m. in Kingsbury Etoll, it was announced Monday by Dr. H. L. Marshall, president of the Frederick William Reynolds association. The distinguished annual lectureship, established as a memorial to Prof. Reynolds, first director of the Division of Continuing Education (formerly the Extension Division), honors an outstanding university faculty member whose research or creative work deserves public recognition. An expert in the fields of public taxation and economics, Dr. Rasmussen will discuss Is Utah Bankruptcy Bound? The Reynolds lecture is open to the public without charge. Professor Rasmussen was bom in Spring City, Utah, in 1908. He attended Snow College and then obtained both the B.S. degreen (1934) and M.S. degree (1936) from the University of Utah. In 1939-4- 0 and 1941-4- 2 he was a graduate student in economics at Stanford University where he was awarded the Ph.D. degree in 1948. Between the sophomore and junior years in college, he taught in the Box Elder School District for three years. Juengling, 914 South 11th East, was awarded the Good Conduct Medal Sept. 8, while serving with the 428th Medical Company in Germany. He was awarded the medal for exemplary conduct, efficiency, and fidelity as a soldier in active service.
