Show THE SALT LAKE TIMES Page Nine FRIDAY, MARCH 5, 1965 Utah Will Observe Girl Scout Week Consideration Due On Utah Road Job The 10,000 members o the Utah Girl Scout Council will join with almost three and three quarter million Girl Scouts in the country in celebrating Girl Scout Week from Sunday, Mar. 7 to 13. A birthday celebration will mark this week and the Girl Scouts 53rd birthday in the Utah State Capitol Building Rotunda, Friday, March 12, according to Mrs. John M. Conrow, Council President. Gov. Calvin Ramp-towill start the activities by cutting a birthday cake after which he will be presented with the Girl Scout Statuette of a memento to Girl Scout friendship. After being introduced from the floor of the legislature Girl Scouts from all over the Council will present yqellow carnations to the lawmakers. During their visit to the Capitol the girls and their leaders will make a tour of the area, including the Old City Hall and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Museum. To end the days activities the Girl Scouts will retire the flag in front of the Capitol to a special ceremony. A booth will be located in the Rotunda during the week to provide information in telling the Girl Scout Story. The theme of Girl Scout Week is Girl Scouting, A Promise in Action. This Promise is Action extends for a lifetime and Girl Scouting provides an important bridge from todays girl Senator Frank E. Moss has been assured that careful consideration will be given to all information available in support of requests that Utah be allocated funds for further improvement of Utah Highway 95, which leads from Hanksville to Blanding. Senator Moss said that an amendment to the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1964 raised from $3 million to $9 million the n, (D-Uta- h) amount authorized for public lands highways.
