Show m The Allen Glnes family are on cloud nine as they got settled in their new home in Woodland. The house is a very pretty addition to the community. Jolean Glnes was a weekend visitor at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Bonnie Fitzgerald of Ogden spent Saturday and Sunday with her parents, Stiff and Alta Hoyt. A surprise birthday party was given Saturday for Susie Wilde by her big sister Cindy. Many of her little friends helped her celebrate her 6th birthday with pmes and refreshments. Jim and Kay (Robertson) Rider are very proud parents of a baby girl, born July 27. She weighed 8 lb. 2 os. Larry won 2 over par 146 one stroke ahead of his opponent from Pebble Beach, Calif. Larry is the son of Joy and Basil Beech. Ben-dix- Coalville Comment Mrs. Elaine Williams and daughter Kathy of Evanston spent Saturday attending the fair and visiting with the Jean Roath family. They attended a wedding reception Saturday evening in Salt Lake for Walts niece. Many of our Kamas residents attended the Summit County Fair in Coalville. Brenda Fitzgerald was one of the rodeo queen attendants and Carol Kokohnen was one of the attendants to the Fair Queen. Jeff Anderson showed the Reserve Champion beef and there were many, many blue ribbons given to the women and children of the Ward for their exhibits. AU in all, it was a fun time at the County Fair. Mr. Darrell Walker and family are visiting with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lallont Walker. A very nice open house was held Sunday afternoon for the Max WUliards. The open house was held at the home of Mr.and Mrs. Robert McGregor, and Mr. and Mrs. Arvln Anderson were co-handhostess.Many friends called to say good-bto Max and Ann who are moving this month to Kent, Washington, where he will teach school. The community has enjoyed having the Williards live here and will be sorry to have them leave. Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Anderson of Garden Grove, California visited with his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Arvln Anderson over the weekend. Sunday School Party Is Held partic- ipants enjoyed the annual Sunday School party of the Adult Gospel Doctrine class in the Cultural Hall of the Peoa LDS Chapel Wednesday evening. Lynn's major is International Relations, white brought sack lunches and stayed all day in order to finish our pondhos and also cut out and finish our skirts. FRANCI- S- The Dough Heads went on our H outing on July 7, 8, and 9th. We went hiking, exploring, and swimming. We had a watermelon bust. We really enjoyed our handicraft, making painted masks and paper roll crafts. R was fun steeping in our tents and getting rained on. We are looking forwardtomak- ing our cookies for the Fair. GRACE JONES Henefer . The Q T Pies have not sent our news in, so well catch up. Weve learned how to buy and use fruits. We learned the best way to use eggs, too. We attended camp. For our skit, we did several blackouts. We bad lots of fon at camp, and we kept our camp very clean. We got 2nd prize for this. The forest ranger helped to make our camp fun. The weekly meetingof the Adventurers was held July 28 at the home of leader, Mrs. Betty Crittenden. We did our book work and then took funds we had accumulated to our bishop, Bishop Raymond Louder, for help with the stake center building fund. This was our community project. Following the meeting we ate lunch at the city park. Thanks to the excellent leadership of leader, Betty Crittenden, all four girls received 1st place ribbons on their articles at the county fair. Scott and Lucinda Lewis are happy to have their two service boys home for a visit. Leslie Is here from New Mexico and has another weeks leave. Charles spent a week home and returned Tuesday to Ft. Lewis, Washington. Their daughter Annette Sewell and two children left Wechesday for their home In San Jose, California. Howard and Leah Mair and family and her mother, Mrs. Jones attended a large family reunion Sunday for the William Prescott descendants, held at the home of Retta Prescott in The ambulance was called out twice on Friday. Don Thacker, driver, took Lois Snapp to the University Hospital, where she Is in Intensive care. Friday night a Salt --Lake man was brought down from the canyon, apparently suffering a heart attack. He was also taken to a Salt Lake hospital by Mr. Thacker. Larry and Therma Turner were happy to have their daughter Shauna spend a few days with them. Shauna had Just returned home from a trip to Oklahoma, and Is now In California with a church group for a week. On Sunday Larrys two brothers, John and Steve and their families visited with them. The children and grandchildren at Claude and Hilda Thacker enjoyed a reunion Saturday ' at their home. Those attending with their families were Brent and Mary Lou Spaulding of Iowa; Ted and Fay Taylor of Texas; Jack and Aim Stokes, Carl and Myrte Jensen, Kaysville; Bruce and Linda Compton, Provo; Don and Carolyn of Kamas; and Dallas and Janet, Oakley. Two members were unable to attend, Joyce Maughan and family from New Jersey and Nile who is on a mission. Ira and Letha Mites were very happy to receive a letter from their grandson, Terry Wilson, son of Melvin and Naoma W ilson of Council, Idaho. He sent a picture of his ship, the USS Okinawa which picked up the Astronauts in the Pacific Ocean August 7.
