Richins of Echo, Utah, was one of four F-- 5 Freedom Fighter Idiots from Williams AFB, Aria., who recently flew to first-plateam honors In Bullseye vm competition at Luke AFB, Aria. Bullseye VIII denotes the 58th Tactical Fighter Training wing's conventional fighter weapons competition among wing instructor pilots. Major Richins and his fellow team members accumulated more points In dive bombing, rocketry, skip bombing and strafing events than nine other teams who flew Super Sabres and Starflghters. In addition to assisting his team in winning first place, Chandler, Arla.-U- J5. ce 00 05 Summit North High School, Coalville, Utah, and attended the University of Utah. J Echo News RobtRedeger Rites Saturday ' Robert Charles Bedepr, 45, died Tuesday, Feb. 3 following surpry at McKay Hospital. He was born April 2, 1924 In Marshaltown, Iowa to Robert C. and Elsie Winger. Married Dorothy Beckstead, Oct. 18 , 1947 at Soda Springs, Idaho. The couple lived In Grace, Miihn one year and then moved to North Salt Lake where they resided for three years where he worked for General Motors Electra Division. They later moved to Devils Slide where he was employed by ideal Cement Co. as machinist, for eleven years. The family moved to Echo to make their home. , Survivors: widow; sons, daughters, Ronald, Marine , Major Richins outscored the other 39 contestants to take the Individual "top gun trophy. At Williams, the major Is assigned to the 425th Tactical Fighter Training Squadron. He Is a member of the Tactical Air Command which provides combat units for air support of U.S. ground forces. Major Richins formerly served as an advisor to the Republic of Korea Air Force. He Is a 1952 graduate of Corps, Santa Ana, Calif.; Blaine Robert, Ray, Wendy, Carol, Kathy all of Echo; brother, Loyd; half brother Edward Kjormoe Jr.; mother, Mrs. Elsie Kjormoe, all of Clinton, Iowa. Seedlings are grown in the Green Canyon Nursery and are for use by private landowners in a variety of planting projects such as for forest vtlon, windbreaks, erosion control, Christmas trees, game cover, etc. Among the species available this year are Ash, Black and Honey Locust, Russian Olive, Golden Willow, Hybrid Poplar, Austrian, Scotch, Ponderosa, and Piny on Pines, Eastern Red Cedar, and Blue Spruce. Lower growing shrubs that are Ideal for use In windbreaks, game cover, and erosion control are Sand Cherry, European Sage, Squaw Bush, Multiflora Rose, Common Lilac, and Siberian Pea. A restriction Is placed on these seedlings In that they may not be used for ornamental or landscaping purposes and cannot be resold as living trees.
