Show I Two Brothers Are Reunited Cooks tour of Park City and Salt Lake City. They drove to Magna to visit Colleen and her family and spent time with their half sister in Roy. Many Icelandic natives have settled in Spanish Fork and Ase and his wife took Jens and his family to visit former friends of their homeland. On June 20 Jens and his family will fly back to Iceland. Many people wonder about the last names of the brothers. When Ase came to America he took his father's name Ole and added "son making the name Olson. While in Park City Ase celebrated his birthday and wedding anniversary. The best gift of all was the happy reunion with his brother. No word can describe their Joy but when you saw the brothers together you could feel the happiness of the Rfter Sixty Years Separation Thew two brothers were reunited this week after sixty years separation. Frau left: JeasKristjaassoa; Us daugh ter, Gurdtur; Aae Olsom and his wife, Din Olson. It has been sixty years since taro brothers, Jens Kristjans-so- n and Ase Olson have seen each other. Ase was four years old and Jens only three months old when his mother took Ase and Journeyed to Canada in 1911. The father, Ole was drowned and his widow became a housekeeper for a man coming to North America. H is mother left Iceland with her four year old son Ase. She was only able to take one son and Jens was left behind with family friends until his mother could send for her younger son but this was never to be and Jens remained in Iceland and later married Disa and they lived in Reykjavik Iceland where he still has a taxi service. Their only child,fifteen year old Gurdun has been attending school in Roy, Utah this past year with Feola Barton, half sister of Jens. On May 31 Jens and his wife Disa came by plane to Salt Lake City from Iceland, where his brother Ase Olsen was there to greet them. It was a most happy reunion. After getting Gurdun the four traveled to Reno, Nevada and spent a week getting acquainted with Ase and Alice Olsen, former Parkites. Ase received his schooling in North Dakota and traveled around working in western mines for twenty-sevyears. He came to Park City in 1927. In 1923 he married Alice Skinner and they raised their children in Park City. About seven years ago Ase and Alice moved to Reno to make their home. Their twin daughters Darleen and Colleen are now married. Darleen to Mason Smith of Park City and Colleen to Floyd Yates of Magna Utah where they reside. ' the bride are Amos A. FranUtah. The brideson of Mr. and Mrs. William C. Cleggof Heber City, Utah. They were honored at a wedding breakfast at the Chicken Inn at Wanship. Later the same evening they were feted at a reception at toe Oakley Ward Cultural Hall. Attending the bride was Mrs. Caleen Mawhinney as Matron of honor, as brldesmaidKaren Arave, Janet Jeffery, Jan Mawhinney, Dianna Allen, and Renee Clegg. Little flower girls were Kim and Gaye Mawhinney, and Mary Clegg. Best man was Dean Henroid with Gary Clegg, Max Mawhinney, and John Franson acting as ushers. After visiting Denmark, Germany and Spain they met their son Allan who is stationed at Nuremberg, Germany and together they drove through Belgium where they ferried over to England for a tour of that beautiful country. They visited many interesting historical sites. After leaving Allan at Frankfurt, Germany the Bates' flew back to the UA. via the North Pole into Anchorage, Alaska. They toured that city and visited "Earthquake Park" showing the great devastation caused by the earthquake. Leaving Anchorage at two in toe afternoon they were back in Salt Lake City that evening. A thrilling trip-b-ut always good to be back home again with family and friends. Mr. and Mrs. Don Saxton from Michigan are visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Saxton. An excellent Father's Day program was. presented to members of the Wanship Ward Sunday morning. The program was under the direction of Myrla Homer. Those taking part were: The Primary children sang two songs, talks honoring the fathers .were given by Elsie Peterson, Vic Judd and Ruth Maxwell; beautiful songs were rendered by Mrs. Betty Lam-so- n, Roberta Milliner, Noretta and bride- groom are attending Weber State College in Ogden and will continue their studies there. They will make their home in Peterson, Dorothy Ogden. Entertaining at prenuptial parties were Mrs. E. H. Car-ro- ll, Mrs. Audrey Stevens, Mrs. Jolene Moon, and Mrs. Tracy Flager. Dr. Robt Walker Visits His Uncle Doctor Robert H. Walker, nephew of Mayor Copley Walker of Coalville, paid the Mayor a visit on June 16 on his way through town. He and his wife, Barbara, and their children, Flora, Heather, Laural, and Robert, are moving from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where Robert served as Master Surgeon, to Cleveland, Ohio. Here he will be surthe head of the open-hea- rt gery department. The Doctors credits came from BYU, where he obtained his BA Degree. Then he attended MaGille University in Montreal, where he received ite work his MD. His was done in Harvard University. post-doctor- Phyllis Rlchins came home for Father's Day. Peggy and Keith Dawson from Ogden and Sue and Boyd Robinson and their four sons of Coalville. Mrs. Acel Hales is home again after spending toe past two weeks in hock Springs with her daughter, Mrs. Zelma Roberts and her family. . Bogedahl, Myrl Vernon and Louise Pace; a musical number by Verla Pace and RaNae Judd. A talk was also given by Mrs. Marvin Robison. Each father was presented with a beautiful red rose bud for their lapel. Mrs. Gertrude MaxweU and her granddaughter, Joh Maxwell have returned from an enjoyable trip to New Mexico. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Maas and family stopped in to visit with Mr. and Mrs. Alma Pace Wednesday -- toe Maas' had been on a trip to California. Mrs. Hazel Street drove to Salt Lake City Saturday to visit with her brother Karl Hlxon who has been ill. Mrs. Sadie Vernon and Myrl Vernon attended showers for Margaret Blonquist last week. Wednesday they were present at a kitchen shower at the home of Mrs. Donna Keyes and Monday was a personal shower given at the home of Sylvia Hortin. Mrs. Millie Pendleton enjoyed visitors during the week. Mrs. Dan Pendleton and son and Mrs. Pendletons mother from Oklahoma stopped in. Also visiting were Mr. and Mrs. Skouson of Michigan and their grandson, Bradley Pendleton of Spanish Fork. Bradley is toe grandson of great Mrs. Pendle- home of Mr. and Mrs. Elsie Peterson. Dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fay Bates Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Brent Ball and daughter, Wendy. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Dar-ce- y visited last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Wodstenhulme in Montpelier, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Williams and son and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Williams of Salt Lake were visiting with Mrs. Hope Williams over the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Bage-da- hl and daughter of Logan were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bogedahl. Marion Group at Monastery The Homemakers Club took by their annual summer tour the Monastery in Huntsville. They were shown many things including the stone ground bread of which they all bought some to try. They then lunched at Harmans where they enjoyed a most delicious meal, then they toured the Industrial School, which proved most enlightening. Due to the lateness of toe day their trip to the potato chip factory was postponed. Nine ladies enjoyed this Interesting tour. Father's Day was Just like Christmas for Elmer Olsen as the children and grandchildren all came bringing gilts. A chicken dinner was enjoyed fay Mr, and Mrs. BUI Roath and family of Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Kent Vernon, Hoytsville; Mr. and Mrs. Elgin Louder and girls or Orem also called in for a visit as did Marjory Hardman. Real happy to report May Lewis is home after spending five weeks in toe hospital. She is doing nicely but still weak. She says "theres no place like home. Lyle and JoAnne took a midnight ride to the airport Saturday to meet JoAnneb sister Nola Pace, who had been visiting in El Paso, Texas at the homo of Mark and Ardell West.
