Our primary source of power at three of our four plants is natural gas with oil as an alternate fuel. Consumers Power Company who furnish the natural gas has notified us that it will interrupt our service from October 3 to December 31 and that it may extend the January, interruption during 1974. This March and February entire our would cover operating season. We have filed a complaint with the Michigan Public Service Commission against Consumers Power Company requesting relief from this threatened interruption which is now pending. As of this date we have been able to contract sufficient fuel oil to process approximately 40 percent of the expected crop. We are attempting to secure additional quantities of fuel oil and we are hopeful that a solution will be found to enable us to process the entire crop. The crop to be harvested shortly looks promising and prices for by are further developments we will advise you. Very truly yours, Michigan Sugar Company Ernest Flegenheimer, President Abortion Dear Editor: During the last session of the Utah Legislature, several people asked me to help them prepare a new abortion law which would satisfy the Supreme Court and protect unborn babies at the same time. I refused to do this because I felt it was not the solution. 1 told them as long as we submit to the tyranny of the Federal J udiciary, we will never be able to protect the lives of unborn babies. Now a new law has been tried and has failed. I dont think very many people in Utah need to be convinced that abortion should be restricted by law.
