Presiding at the meeting was President Carlene Eastwood. The Devotional was given by Mrs. Pansy Treloar followed by a routine business meeting. The lesson entitled "The Cruwas given by Mrs. cifixion, Treloar. The hostess served delicious refreshments to those named and to Mrs. Mabel Butler,' Mrs. Alliene Farren, Mrs. Mary Newman, Mrs. Frances Ewell, Mrs. Vola Nevers, Mrs. Virginia Randle and Mrs. Annie Smith. Hie next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Annie Smith. Bridge Club Mrs. Ina Clement entertained the members of the Bridge Club, Thursday evening at her home in Santaquin. Winners of the Bridge prizes were Faye Wall, first; Mar-Jea- n Finch, honors; Emma Gourley, cut; and Jean Giles, consolation. The hostess served refreshments to those named and to Leona Franks, Minnie Painter, Alice Peart and Alliene Farren. JSirlliA . . Of interest to Eurekans is the birth of a baby girl to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Lovell in a Salt Lake hospital. The new mother is the former Nina Schena, a former resident of Eureka now residing in Hunter, Utah. The baby was bom Friday morning, March 27, and weighed seven pounds. Her name will be Bobbie Lynn and she has a one year old brother, Anthony. Welcoming the new arrival are grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Neno Schena of Abraham, Utah. Happy great grandmother is Mrs. Mary Garbett, Eu- reka. and Mrs. Darrel Furr are the proud parents of thoir first child, a daughter, born Sunday morning in the Payson Hospital. The little miss weighed in at eight pounds four ounces. The new mother is the former Pauline Gilson. Mr. Happy grandpaents arc Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Gilson and great grandmother is Mrs. Ada Schmidt. The League of Nations operated for 26 years. It came into being January 10, 1920, at Geneva, Switzerland, and was dissolved January 10, 1946. . Mrs. Duane Semarad and baby from Salt Lake City arc spending a week at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Quigley, while Duanes in North Carolina on business. They will return to their home the latter part of the week. CHURCH O.S. Club Members of the O.S. Club were entertained last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Ken Underwood. At the conclusion of the card games, prizes were awarded to the following: Mrs. LeRoy Gourley Jr., high score; Mrs. Jim Underwood, cut; and Mrs. Paul Gourley, consolation. Paul Bartschi gave a poem. The group iJhen gave some choral readings and sang three numbers. A vocal duet was presented by Sue Garbett and Sherrie Mrs. Jewel McNeil was taken to Payson Hospital by (ambulance Tuesday when an ulcer on her leg began to hemorrhage suddenly. At last report she was recovering nicely. Ken Pannell underwent serious surgery on Tuesday in a Salt Lake hospital. His friends in Eureka are wishing him the best in the way of a speedy and complete recovery. David Fitch returned to his studies at the Abbey School in Canon City, Colorado Monday after spending a week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fitch. Also home for the Easter week were daughter Jane and sons John and Edward. All are students at the University of Utah in Salt Lake. home helping out with family chores while Robin is recup- erating. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bird spent Sunday afternoon in Fillmore visiting at the home of Lees sister and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Monson. Mrs. Maxine Bird spent Mon- The Easter Egg Hunt held at the city park and sponsored by the Girl Scouts brought out a good turnout of children despite the cold damp weather. The leaders found it necessaiy to hide the eggs in places where they could be found quickly, because it was so cold. But the children had fun and were rewarded with many prizes. Mrs. Frank McCabe returned home Tuesday afternoon after a nine day stay in a Salt Lake hospital. Her aunt, Mrs. Mary Dineen, from Ogden accom ovich. Several members of the Firebird Motorcycle Club drove to Brigham City Sunday where they took part in a hill climb sponsored by the Klunker Motorcycle Club. Riders who participated were Jim Jensen, Max Sorensen, Bill Riley, Ronald Bray, Kay Sorensen, Jerry Giles, Ron Gilson and Tom Bacca. None of the riders placed in the contests but they had the Mrs. Donna Paxman, Mrs. Ronald Bird and three children, Gregory, Jennifer and Andrew drove to Salt Lake City on Tuesday to visit Mrs. Peggy Fowden, Midvale, and Mr. and Mrs. Bliss Mikesell, Salt Lake. They returned home 70 Years Of Steering Progress Colovich. Hymns were sung by the congregation conducted by Wanda Colovich and Mary Garbett. Hie services were closed with a few remarks by Mrs. Afton Berry. Methodist Church Services at the Eureka Methodist Church on Sunday were under the direction of the Sunday School teachers, Miss Debbie Ewell, Mrs. Linda Gourley, Mrs. Mary Lou Gourley and Mrs. Carlene Eastwood. The Sunday School classes presented a special Easter Sunday program as follows: opening prayer by Teddy Johnson; a poem by Gary Gourley entitled "See That Jesus Gets the Praise; Easter scripture read- ings by Jimmy Ewell; the Meditation by Cary Sutherland. A song was rendered by the combined kindergarten and primary class, followed by a short play, "Joy Cometh in the Morning pesented by the Sunbeam Class. This group also sang, "The Whole World in His Hands. A reading, entitled, "Today is Easter was given by Ethel Ewell, followed by a vocal solo by Debbie Ewell. The program came to an end with a poem by Pam Brady. Ronnie Eastwood gave the closing prayer. All the children were then given a special Easter treat. The W.S.C.S. organization with a church the presented beautiful Easter Lily. Speaker for the services was Bill Hayes from the First Methodist Church, Salt Lake City. Services next Sunday will be at 11 a.m. with Mrs. Lynn Brady as speaker. Sunday School will be at the usual time, 10 a.m., with Supt Linda Gourley in charge.
