Show Page Four cu n Young at Heart November 14, 1969 THE EUREKA (UTAH) REPORTER cut, and Minnie Painter, Club Young at Heart Senior Citizens group met last Wednesday afternoon in the Memorial Building, with Edgar Finch conducting. The usual procedure was followed: the singing of God Bless America, the pledge of allegiance and the opening prayer, given by Celeste Thompson. Old and new business was discussed and much of it was Miner's Auxiliary President Lilly Erickson presided at the regular meeting of the Miners Union Auxiliary last Wednesday evening. Following the business sesand Bingo were sion, 500 Ada Schmidt won the played. 500 prize, and the Bingo was won by Mrs. Erickson, and the cut by Myrna Garbett. Mildred Davis and lone Ryan were hostesses for the evening and served tasty refreshments. Mrs. Tallinn Finch gave the secretarys report, and the treasurers report was given by ", . A turkey dinner was served . at 8 p.m. followed by an in- teresting program. Columbia Rebekah Lodge - Visitors fTom the state association, President and Mrs. A. L. MacAfee of Heber, Arvil Adams, senior trustee, and Mr: and Mrs. Charles Tate of Tooele attended. They . gave short .talks on the Volunteer Firemens Pension Plan. Mrs. Jim Lunt of Lehi spent last Friday in Mammoth with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erickson. Mr. and Mrs. James Toone returned to their home in Mammoth on Monday evening k from a vacation in Reno, Nevada, where they were guests of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Toone. While in Reno they were taken on side trips. One was to Pyramid Lake where .they had some wonderful luck fishing. Bessie caught a five lb. and a four lb. trout, outdoing the others. Opening prayer was by Velma Phillips. Reports were given concer- - ' ning the TOPS Workshop held in Aurora last Saturday, by' Emma Lewis, Elna Bird, Bonnie Laird and Jean Giles. Bonnie Laird was declared queen for the week since she had lost the most weight. Barbara Bartschi and Velma Phillips explained the rules for , a new contest to be held during the week and concluded at the next meeting. Closing prayer was by Afton Berry. I American Legion Auxiliary met Monday evening in the Memorial Building, with President Dorothy Allinisbn conducting. After the business of the meeting, tentative plans were discussed for the annual Christmas party. The date will be announced later. Cards were dispensed with, and prizes were drawn, vii.h Cleo Judge winning the high cut, and low, Dorothy Alllnson. Hostesses for the meeting were Valene Livingston and Margaret Hyde. Thursday Afternoon Club Gertrude Hannifin hosted the Thursday Afternoon Club at Lucilles Lounge. Lurfcheon was served at 1 p.m. after which several games of 500 were enjoyed. Prize winners were Dora Rose, first; Donna Pax man, second; Della Berry, a?l .no ful weather during the entire trip. BPOE 711- - here last Thursday evening. A dinner was served at Lucilles .lounge' preceding the meeting, with the wives of the Elks as guests. Exalted ruler Ronald Nelson was in charge of the meeting. Columbia Rebekah Lodge No'. 2, met last Thursday evening' in the Miners Union Hall. Noble Grand Mary Wheelwright presided at the business session. A report was given on the bake sale held earlier. A reading Leaning on the Everlasting Arms was given by Anna Franks. The Christmas party, scheduled for December 18, was discussed. Bingo provided the evenings entertainment, with prizes going to Nellie Laird and Anna Franks. Tasty refreshments were served by the committee, Alice Peart and Nellie Laird. (Brevities i .
