She had spent the past three weeks here as a guest of the James Quigley family. Former Eureka residents announce engagement of their daughter Mr. and Mrs. John B. Brown are announcing the approach- ing marriage of their daughter, Elaine, to Lynn F. Obom, a son of Dr. and Mrs. Norman Obom, former Eureka residents now making their home in Pay-son. The marriage will be solemnized Friday, August 29, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. 'A' reception will honor the young couple that evening at 534 South Main in Payson. In Coming marriage announced here Announcement is made this week by Mr. and Mrs. Martin Joseph Tierney of San Francisco of the coming marriage of their daughter and Cedi Aloysius Fitch m, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fitch, Jr., of Eureka. The young people will be married September 6 in St. Emydius Catholic Church in Lake spent the past week here with her daughter and family, case of inclement weather Park Second Ward, 100 South 300 West, will be the setting for the reception. Tintic BPOE Lodge hosts board Tintic BPOE Lodge No. 711 hosted the state-wid- e Interm Board Governing Meeting in Eureka Saturday evening, August 9, at 7:30 p.m. In the evening a western dance was held in the dub rooms with music provided by a western band from Skull Valley. It was pronounced a social success by all attending. Sunday morning coffee and rolls were served to the early arrivals from 15 Elks lodges throughout the state. The business session of the meeting opened at 10 a.m. with Utah State Elks Association President Bill Kobel presiding. A most interesting and informative session was conducted by President Kobel and his staff. Approximately 50 . Elks from throughout the state were in San Francisco. attendance. Knotts family holds reunion Following the meeting a luncheon was served by the Tintic Ladies of Elks. . ' The Knotts family held a reunion last Sunday at Saratoga Resort. Those attending from Eureka were Mr. and Mrs. Wel-linSchow, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gourley, Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Gourley, Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Gourley, Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Paul Gourley and Mr .and Mrs. Wayne Chambers. Many other members from out of town attended the reunion and a most enjoyable gs day was spent visiting with family members and enjoying the swimming fadlities at the resort, and the small fry tried out all the concessions offered at the resort Snell-Ericlcs- on reunion held Reunion was enjoyed last Sunday at Saratoga Resort when members of the families gathered to spend the day. Those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Glen Erickson of Elberta, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Erickson and family of Tooele; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Ek and family of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Erickson and baby; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Wheelock and family, all of Bountiful; Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Fletcher and family of Renton, Wash.; Mrs. Gilbert Snell, Mrs. Dick Dorman and family, Mir. and Mrs. Dave Garbett, Jr., and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ehard Snell, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Snell and Mrs. Helen Jackson of Eureka. The young people took advantage of all the concessions and the swimming facilities, and the adults enjoyed a good A Snell-Ericks- on old-fashion- ed talk fest . Mrs. A. L. Broderick of Salt Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Thompson and Mrs. Dorothy Nelson of Salt Lake were overnight guests on Saturday at the Hamilton Laird home. i Young' af Heart' Club holds meeting Senior Heart Citizens Young at Club met Wednesday in the Memorial Building. The meeting was opened by President James Toone, and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Lorin Thompson. Opening prayer was given by Chaplain Lucille Riley and God Bless America was sung by the members with Lucille Riley accompanying and Bessie Toone leadVice-preside- ing. Reading of the nt minutes was by Secretary Lillian Finch and the treasurers report was given by Edgar Finch. Happy Birthday was sung to Myrtle Hansen. Another trip to Nephi Canyon was planned for August 20. Those planning to attend are reminded to take their own lunch. A report on the entry the Senior Citizens put in the parade was given by Georgia Laird and other reports on the parade were given by Gertrude Hannifin. The door prize was won by Alice Fox. Ylewd Yjotei Mr. and Mrs. Martin Fennell, Sr., spent the weekend in Salt Lake with their daughters and their families, Mr. and Mrs. Craig Lindsay and Mr. and Mrs. Terry Kay. They were accompanied on the return trip home by Danny and David Kay, who will spend the week here with their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Chatwin and family, left for their home in Hermiston, Oregon, after spending four days here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chatwin. They were en route home from a vacation spent in California. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gourley. She also visited with another daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Laird. Sherrie Colovich is spending the week in Tooele with her brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Kay Colovich. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Butler and two grandchildren of Ne Miss Duffy Quigley returned home during the week for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Quigley. She attended summer school in Gon-zaUniversity in Washington, where she received her degree in political science. ga Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Thompson spent a few days last week in Beaver, visiting with relatives. They returned home on Saturday. |
