Finch, and son, Ken, Goshen; Mr. and Mrs. Bemell Thomas, Eureka. Mrs. Irene Boswell, Spanish Fork; Howard Jensen and grandson, Danny Black of Tooele. The honored guest was the recipient of many lovely gifts. attend California wedding Mr. and Mrs. Dick Laird and family, and Mrs. Nellie Laird returned last week after spending a few days in Pasadena, Calif., where they attended the wedding of Mrs. Lairds granddaughter, Miss Dianne Laird and Douglas Norman Logan. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Laird, former resident of Eureka. The ceremony was performed on Saturday, August 20 at the Chapel of Roses in Pasadena. Immediately following the reception, the newlyweds were honored at a reception hosted by the parents of the bride. The reception was held on the lovely patio at the Laird home. Mrs. Anna Franks accompanied the Lairds as far as Las Vegas and visited with Mrs. Lottie Brown and her daughter, Ruby. Former residents meet in California Eurekans will be interested in knowing that the WBBA, baseball team managed by Rusty Rife took third in the Santa Monica, California, last week. A few Eurekans were on hand to greet Mr .and Mrs. Rife and their two sons, Richard and Roger, who proved to be two of the outstanding tournament. The luncheon was served at 1:00 pjn., followed by an afternoon of visiting. Mrs. Charlotte Zelinkov and two boys of Salt Lake City spent the weekend here with her aunt, Mrs. Maud Hilsdale and other relatives. Mrs. Hilsdale returned to Los Angeles Wednesday morning after she spent the summer months here. Mrs. Maxine Levig of Lytle Creek, Calif., spent a few days here during the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Vem Nevers. She came to Utah for the funeral services for Joseph Stokes. She left for home Wednesday evening. Mr. and Mrs. James Muth and two boys left Sunday for Elko, Nevada, where they will make their home. We are sorry to lose the Muth family, but wish them well in their new surroundings. Mrs. Jim Derry and daughter, Denise of Denver, Colorado, are spending the week here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Randle. L. Broderick drove to Dugway, Sunday where a family gathering was enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Arvid Newman. MacAfee and and Mrs. Diane daughter, Shelly Wilde were in Spanish Fork on Monday on a shopping tour. Capt. Terry Mitcheltree spent a few days here last week with his cousin and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schow. He has been stationed with the Marines in West Virginia and was enroute to his home in Napa for a visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. D.
