Designed to get Sno.v Time off to a rollicking head start, Hootspa presents a delightful round of firsts" for the Beehive State. For example: A Hootspa Hop (thats four dance bands, a ski swap and a melodrama, all in one place); a Hootspa Snow Ball Express (that's a ski train to fabulous Park City); and Miss Hootspa (thats the prettiest girl in Utah who skis). The festive five days are sponsored by Olympics for it organ! Utah, Inc., a cation formed to bring the 1972 Winter Olympics to Utah and is supported by the Utah Gay-Nineti- es non-prof- Travel Council. Max E. Rich, President of OUI, said Hootspa proceeds will be used to support Utah's international campaign to win the 1972 bid. "And Hootspa will serve an even more important goal. It will make all Utahns conscious of the tremendous winter recreation potential of our state, Rich added. the Hootspa Kickoff event Hop begins Dec. 1 at 5:00 pm., at the Terrance in Salt Lake City. A winter fashion show will lead up to the crowning of Miss Hootspa, g session. followed by a Hootspa spreads statewide on Friday, with special carnival events planned at ski resorts and downtown night spots in Ogden, Logan, Salt Lake, Provo, and Cedar City. Ice hockey will be part of Hootspa activities. The area's two top amateur teams, the Salt Lake Seagulls and Provo Canucks, will meet December at Provo's Winter Garden, then December 4 at Hygcla Iceland, 1224 East 21 South In Salt Lake City.
