Father Daz, pastor of St. Patrick's, extends an invitation to the general public to attend the Thanksgiving Day Mass. LDS Church Services Duane Garbett conducted the Sunday evening services at the Eureka LDS Ward. The music was by Mayme Wirthlin at the organ and Faye Ryan conducting. The invocation was given by Richard Webb. The Relief Society Singing Mothers sang the sacrament song. Individual Awards were presented to the MIA girls for their attendance and work accomplished during the year. Jan Phillips was given a award; Susan Sanderson and Carol Webb, 2nd year awards; Gaye Phillips, Elizabeth Castleton and Peggy Sparrow, 3rd year awards; Paone-ye- ar tricia Boswell, JaNette Hyde and Gloria Castleton, 4th year awards; Ruth Potts was given Individual Award. an The awards were presented by the president of the YWMIA organization, Rachael Long. Speaker for the evening was Richard J. Rasmussen of Fountain Green. He also sang the closing song with the Singing Mothers. Tasty refreshments were served by the hostess for the evening, Mrs. Leona Franks. ut 500 Of interest to many Eure-kaand former residents is the announcement of the birth of a baby boy to Mr. and Mrs. Art Sheldon of Butte, Montana. The little boy was bom November 14 and weighed 8 lbs. 4 oz. and will be named Michael John. The newcomer has a sister, Julie, who is happy over the new addition to the family. Mrs. Sheldon is the former Maureen Smith, daughter of Mrs. Irene Smith of Sacramento, Calif., a former resident of Eureka. Paternal grandmother is Mrs. ns Indies of Elks Club Mrs. Dick Laird was hostess to the "500" Club at her home on Wednesday evning of last week. In the card playing, the high score was won by Mrs. Max Berry, the all-cby Mrs. Bart Ryan, and the consolation by Mrs. Don Hopes. At the conclusion of the card games, the evening was turned into a birthday celebration for Mrs. Bob Robinson. She was presented with a beautiful cake and a gift by club members.
