Blue lakes are the succulent pole beans grown especially for canning in Oregon and Washington, where a wealth of water resources insures their superior quality. These stringless green beans with their firm, juicy pods are ideal vegetable companions for meat and fish and make casseroles, soups and salads more appetizing. Pork Chops and Green Beans 1 can (1 lb. 1 oz.) vertical y cup white dinner wine or blue lake chicken bouillon green pack beans 2 teaspoons prepared 6 large loin pork chops mustard Salt teaspoon dill weed 2 tablespoons cornstarch Ptepper V4 cup chopped onion Vi cup grated Parmesan wine-flavor- ed son, Salem. Steele Workers Union Auxiliary is sponsoring a film which will be shown on May 2, in the Little Theatre. The h film is furnished by the Tele-wit- First Aid. It is hoped that all organizations will attend, and a cordial invitation is extended to the general public. Those who have seen the film state that it is worth anyones time to see this film. Mrs. Floyd Evans Mrs. James Toone entertained the Home Crafts Club at her home in Mammoth Mon- day afternoon. Luncheon was served at 1 p.m., followed by an afternoon of sewing and working on their special hobbies. Attending were Mrs. Georgia Laird, Mrs. Della Berry, Mrs. Florence Fields, Mrs. Virginia Fields and a special guest, Mrs. Dora Rose. cheese Drain beans, reserving liquid. Trim excess fat from hot skillet with a bit of fat from chops. Brown chops slowly, son with salt and pepper. Add onion and sauti until golden. Add V4 cup bean liquid; cover and simmer 20 minutes, or until meat is tender. Combine wine, mustard, dill and cornstarch; mix until wine Add ) roughly. Lift beans out with slotted spatula and place over chops. Pour sauce over all; sprinkle with cheese. Place under broiler until cheese is browned and sauce is bubbly. Serve at once. Makes 6 serving. High score was won by Mrs. Elmo Boswell, the allcut by Mrs. Leland Sanderson, and the raffle by Mrs. Bob Fife.
