Mr. and Mrs. Ransom Broad-beof Salt Lake spent Thursday of this week here with her sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. Wm. Paxman. Mr. and Mrs. Chet Harding and son, Randy of San Leandro, Calif., were here for a short visit on Tuesday with Mrs. Harding's sister, Mrs. Wilma Webber. Miss Frieda Ohlsen of Provo, accompanied them to Eureka and the three sisters had a happy for a few hours. The Hardings had been in Cedar City particiting in the deer hunt. Mrs. Harding will be remembered as Hilda Ohlsen." Mr. and Mrs. Max Chatwln and son, Danny and Ned Hickman of Santa Monica, Calif., were back in town over the weekend. Mr. Chatwin and son joined the Wilson Lee party and participated in the deer hunt Mr. Chatwin bagged a deer on the opening day of the hunt The group returned to California on Sunday. Sir. and Sirs. Alex Blight were in Salt Lake Saturday night, where Mr. Blight attended a meeting of the Masonic Grand Lodge. While the men folks attended the meeting, the ladies were entertained at the Aviation club. Sirs. Roanna Hansen spent last Wednesday in Payson, where she was the guest of Mrs. Verda Mordue. Sirs. Grace Atherley and her brother. Lon Olsen of Marys-val- e were back in town last Wednesday evening. They Keith brought Atherley, who is home on furlough, and who had been visiting his parents, the Lauren Atherleys, back to Eureka. While here the group visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Paxman and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Atherley. Mr. and Sirs. George Forney and Mrs. Roanna Hansen made nt w, get-togeth- er a visit last Thursday to the Mantl LDS Temple. The men folks hunted the first day, and John Bryan was the only successful one of the group and brought r. home a nice Wm. Cromar of Los Angeles, arrived last Fiday for a visit with his sister, Mrs. Frank Gear. While here he and Mrs. Gear visited with the Gene Cromars in Price, and the Leslie Cromars in Pleasant Grove, and the George Cromar family in Magna. Bill left for home Mrs. on Monday afternoon. to the Salt Gear drove him Lake Airport where he took a plane for Los Angeles. Mrs. Ada McIntyre and daughter Ann of Salt Lake were back in town over the weekend visiting with friends in Eureka and Mammoth. Mr. and Mra. John Campbell and daughter, Trade of Salt Lake returned home on Tuesday, after spending a few days two-pointe- here with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Bradford and Mr. and Mrs. Walter Sutherland. Mr. and Mrs. Campbell hunted in the West Tintic area but had to return to the city minus their deer. Mr. and Mrs. James Toone and Mrs. Marie Berry of Mam-mo- h were in Salt Lake on Tuesday helping Mr. Toones mother, Mrs. Emily Toone observe her 91st birthday anniversary. When the Toones returned to Mammoth Tuesday evening, Mr. Toones brother, Millard Toone accompanied them, and poined them in a two-da- y deer hunt Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Erickson of Mammoth, returned home on Friday from Boise, Idaho, after attending funeral services for a cousin of Mrs. Erickson, Mrs. Grace Van Curen. Mr. and Mrs, Robert Hassell and three sons of Price spent te weekend here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Hanks. Robert and two of his sons, Hank and Billy joined the deer hunt on Saturday, but report no luck .They returned home Sunday evening. Mrs. Wilma Webber spent last Saturday visiting in Orem with her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Webber and in Provo with her sister, Miss Freda Ohlsen. Mrs. Myrtle Theriault, Mrs. Elsie Nilson, Ethel Brenton, Mrs. Marion Nash, Mrs. Pansy Treloar, Mrs. Rowena Hanks, and Mrs. Vola Nevers, were in Provo Tuesday evening, attending a meeting of the Valley Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. Whitford Bate, President, of. the Rebekah Assembly of Utah, IOOF, Nel- lie R. Laird, made her official visitation to her home lodge, Columbia Rebekah No. 18 on Thursday evening. A regular lodge session was carried out under direction of Noble Grand Alliene Farren. At the dose of the meeting the president was escorted to her chair and Mrs. Farren presented her with a beautiful orchid corsage, a gift from her son, Bob Laird, who is teaching school in Hawaii. An impressive ceremony was carried out by members of the local organization. Mrs. Lairds symbol for the year is "The Rainbow" arid the ladies all dressed in white , formed a half circle symbolizing the rainbow and played colored flashlights of amber, green and red on the circle in the center of the hall. During the ceremony the hall was in darkness with the exception of the flashlights. As the president left her chair she was escorted through the rainbow by Alliene Farren, noble grand of the Columbia lodge. During the ceremony, .Miss Eileen Fennell and Mrs. JoRae Kay sang "Somewhere Over the Rainbow. A spotlight highlighted a gold vase placed on a pedestal, symbolizing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. When the president reached the pedestal she was presented with a lovely gift by Vice Grand Alice October ies honoring Mrs. Laird a de- - licious lunch was served. Table decorations carried out the rainbow theme and favors con- sisted of miniature hats, filled with candy and nuts. Members on the decorating committee were Vola Nevers, Virginia Bradford, Anna Franks and Lova Jones - - : itations throughout the states This was Mrs. Laird's last visitation, as she has visited all the other lodges in the state in the months since she was elected president of the assembly. She will preside at the Rebekah Assembly of Utah, which will be held in Mt. Pleasant in March. Eighty two members were tin attendance and many lodges throughout the state were represented at the meeting. Mrs. Farren welcomed the visitors to Eureka.
