Tuckett was honored at a family dinner last The Bridge Club met last Thursday in Santaquin at the home of Mrs. Dee Clement. High score was mon by Mrs. Floyd Nash. Other prize winners were Mrs. Ted Johnson, and Mrs. Harry Dean. At the conclusion of the card games, Mrs. Clement served a tasty lunch to those named and to Mrs. Roy Gourley, Mrs. Farren, Mrs. George Finch and Mrs. Anna Franks. Tuesday, on the occasion of her 83rd birthday .anniversary, the honored guest was the recipient of many lovely gifts, complete with a beautifully decorated birthday cake, which centered the dinner table. Those attending were Mr. Tuckett, Mr. and Mrs. Brennan Hannifin, Mr. and Mrs. Tim' Hannifin and children, Mr. . . Al-lie- and Mrs. Ronald Bray. Mrs. Tucketts many friends in Eureka are extending congratulations and the best of wishes for future happiness. Mrs. Bob Robinson entertained the members of her club at her home on Wednesday of last week. 500 was the evenings diversion and prizes were won by Mrs. Dick Laird, ?Zrs. Don Hopes and Mrs. Bart Ryan. Frank McCabe was hostess 'to the Bridge club at her home on Tuesday evening. After cards the hostess served tasty refreshments to Mrs. Ted Johnson, Mrs. Darrell Franks, d, Mrs. Mrs. Ray Badertscher, Curtis Butler, Mrs. J. A. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Judge and daughters, Alice and Eileen, returned home Tuesday evening from Emmett, Idaho, where they attended funeral services for Mrs. Judges brother, Kenneth Huff. A baby girl was bom to Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Sunderland of Nephi. Mr. and Mrs. Francis Carlson of Salt Lake were rejoicing over the arrival of a baby boy and Mn and Mrs. Robert Bruce Scott were announcing the good news of the birth of a baby girl. Women's Society of Christian Service met last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Curtis Butler. Mrs. Butler presided at the business meeting, and the opening prayer was given by Mrs. Ada Randle. After the business session was disposed of, Mrs. Leslie Randle gave the lesson for the day on Mission Work Among the Deaf. At the close of the meeting, the hostess served refreshments to Mrs. Arthur Smith, Mrs.' Elsie Nilson, Mrs. MyrMrs. Leonard tle Theriault, Ryan, Mrs. Ada Randle and Mrs. Leslie Randle. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Horrocks . of Santaquin are the parents of a baby boy born Freday, March 24, in the Payson Hospital. The little boy weighed in at 8 lbs. 3 ozs., and will be named Terold John. New mother is the former Lois Jones, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jones of Eureka, who are more than willing to spread the news of the birth of their first grandchild. Other happy grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Horrocks of Santaquin. Sandra Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hansen, is confined to the Payson hospital, where she is receiving medical treatment. Her many friends are wishing her a speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hannifin were in Salt Lake on Monday combining business and pleasure. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coffey were Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunn of Nephi, Miss Jane Fisher of Salt Lake and Jim Cof- fey of Lark. Stake news Oscar Doyle Crook was sustained Bishop of the Santaquin 2nd Ward Sunday night with counselors Claud Rowley and Ronald Butler. Released was Bishop Michael Christensen and counselors Eldon Green-halg- h and Merton Harward; clerks, Junior Butler, Albert Kay and Ellis Tuckett. Members of the Stake Aar-onPriesthood enjoyed a banquet and program at the Stake Center on Friday, March 24. Roy B. Olsen, recreation chairman was in charge of events and was assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Wayno Nostaja, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Childs, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Maurin, Mr. and Mrs. Rollo Ross, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Isaacson, and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Thomas. Pres. L. W. Clayson was speaker for the occasion and a dance class from Payson, presented Hawaiian dance numbers under the direction of Clara Johnson. One hundred and thirty-seve- n persons were in attendance. Carlyle Wall is chairman of the Senior Aaronic Priesthood Committee. High Priest Quorum members and wives enjoyed a social on Saturday night under the direction of Pres. Gordon Heelis and counselors, Willard DeGraffenreid and Curtis Sorenson. The committee in charge lc included George Forsey, Wilson Lee and Duane Garbctt of Eureka. Program numbers included a quartet by Richard Heaps, Larry Steele, Maurice Hall and Roger Openshaw; solos, Vera Patten, Elden Greenhalgh, accompanied by Jennie Murdock, Kay LeBaron was accompanied by Kathryn LeBaron; Marmon-lc- a solos, Emma Wall; organ medley, Pansy Treloar; reading, Virginia Roberts; legend of Timanogos, Jennie Murdock. Prayers were by Willard DeGraffenreid and Lorin Thompson. Refreshments were served. Kay Tischner of the Second Ward has received a call to the South African Mission. His farewell testimonial will be held April 24 and he will leave on May 1 for his mission. - Eureka ward Sunday evening services at the Eureka LDS ward were conducted 'by Duane Garbett. Music was under direction of Norma Jameson and Wanda Colovich. The opening prayer wis given by Wilson Lee; opening song by the congregation; piano solo, Jerry Sanderson; speaker, David Burraston, a returned missionary from Santaquin; closing song, by the congregation; benediction, Verl Phillips. Miss Ann McIntyre and Mrs. Sally Smith of Salt Lake spent the weekend here visiting with friends. , - Elks organize new lodge Mr. and Mrs. Alex Blight and Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Red-- , mond were in Brigham City Sunday, where a new Elks Lodge was instituted, Lodge No. 2208. Officers of Ogden Lodge No. 719 initiated the incoming officers of the Brigham lodge under direction of grand lodge officers. Mr. Blight, president of Utah State Elks Association addressed the assembly, and Mr. Redmond, one of the Grand Lodge officers assisted in the installation ceremonies. Eighty new members were initiated into the new lodge. While the institution meeting and the installation ceremonies were being carried out, the wives of the Elks were entertained viewing some interesting. films and were served refreshments. At the close of the meeting a buffet supper was served to members and their wives. Friends of young Teddy son Mr. and Mrs. of Haynes, Theodore Haynes, will be pleased to learn that Teddy is recuperating nicely at his home here following a tonsllectomy performed Tuesday in the Nephi Hospital.'
