Show THE EUREKA (UTAH) REPORTER December 18, 1959 Primary Group Holds Social Soda ( eluent Primary officers and teachers and their husbands celebrated at a Christmas party last Wednesday evening in the amusement hall at the Eureka LDS Ward Church. A social hour was enjoyed and a skit was presented, "A Christmas Story of a Primary Mother, by. some of the members. A hot supper was served following the program. Legion Auxiliary Has Special Christmas Social An excellent program was enjoyed with the high school chorus furnishing Christmas cards at the Legion 'Auxiliary Christmas party Monday evening in the Memorial building. The chorus, directed by Ronald Griggs, was congratulated Celebrate At Womens Society of Christian Service met last Thursday afternoon in the Methodist rectory. Virginia Randle gave the lesson for the day and a report was given on the Bazaar held in November, and plans were completed for the annual Xmas party which will be held Friday evening, December 18. Elizabeth Morris was hostess for the meeting and served a The Christmas season was ofifcially ushered in by the Ladies of Elks at their annual Christmas banquet Saturday evening, December 12, in the tasty luncheon to members, Vola Nevers, Annie Smith, Mabel Randle, Virginia Randle, Lavon Ryan, Nell Rowe, Myrtle Theriault, Pansy Treloar and Edith Pendray. Teddy Haynes Has Birthday Party Davis.. A short business meeting was held following the program. The Auxiliarys project for the Christmas season was to furnish clothing, dolls, and other Mrs. Theodore Haynes entertained at a childrens party last Sunday afternoon, honoring her son, Teddy, on the occasion of his 7th birthday anniversary. An afternoon of games was enjoyed and tasty refreshments were served to Teddys guests, Kathy Berry, Janette Hansen, necessary items to the Childrens Primary Hospital in Salt Lake City. The response was gratifying and several boxes of items will be sent. President Virginia Bradford wishes to extend thanks to those who responded to the project. At the conclusion of the business meeting a turkey dinner was served. The members were seated at one long table which was made festive with Christmas decorations. A cleverly constructed miniature tree by President Virginia Bradford formed the centerpiece. Other trees of. the same design were used throughout the room. Members exchanged gifts and cards were enjoyed. Mildred Davis was winner of the Bingo prize and Virginia the Debby Atherley, Adele Nebe-ke- r, Jo Lynn Jameson, Carla Dean, Laurie McCabe, Ramona McIntyre, Charlie Butler, Bobby Warren, Bobby and Ned Launa Lee Allinson, Lowell Ekker, Kathy Montoya, Robert Montoya, Valerie and Mike Bird and Wirth Sanderson. Assisting Mrs. Haynes were Julia Ann Cartwright, Rose Ann Ferris and Sheila Potts. Al-linso- n, attending a birthday celebration for Mrs. Redmond's father, Wm. T. Jolley, who observed his 80th birthday anniversary. Open house was held during the afternoon and evening, ar a number of friends and relatives called during the day to extend birthday congratulations and best wishes. Mr. and Mrs. Ladd Broderick and son, Alan of Delta, were in town on Sunday visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton Laird and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gourley. Banquet Elk's lodgerooms. A turkey dinner was served to members and husbands who were special guests of the evening. A color scheme of silver and blue was used in the table decorations. A strip of blue paper ran the length of the table. Silver sprayed pine boughs with blue Christmas tree ornaments, which held silver stars, further carried out the theme. Favors were fashioned of silver napkin rings which held the napkins and a miniature candy cane. A beautifully decorated tree added to the festive occasion. Mrs. Wm. TTeloar was chairman of the decorating and was assisted by Mrs. Richard Laird, Dancing was enjoyed following the banquet. Is the proud parents of a baby boy, bom Wednesday evening in Idaho Falls, Ida. The new little boy weighed in at 7 lbs. 2 ozs. Alother is the former Jennie Andrew, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Andrew of Eureka, who are more than happy to spread the news. The newcomer has a brother, 4 year-ol- d Brent, who is all excited over the addition to the family circle. Other grandparents are Air. and Airs. Ursel Riggs of Rigby, Idaho. sary. The spry little lady was the center of attraction and a lovely birthday cake was used as a centerpiece on the main serving table. The home was elaborately decorated with flowers which the family had flown in from Hawaii and California, which included a beautiful orchid corsage for the honored guest. All members of the family were in attendance, and over 200 friends called during the day to extend congratulations and best wishes to Mrs. Thompson on her big day. Air. and Airs. Fete Sorensen and Mrs. Harold Sorensen were in Provo last Saturday, where they combined business and pleasure. Air. and Airs. Joe Stokes and Mr. and Airs. Afartin Fennell made a trip to Provo last Saturday, where they combined business and pleasure. daughters, Peggy and Joyce of Orem, spent Sunday here with Mrs. E. A. Stokes and Mr. and Mrs. Vem Nevers. The 500 Club met last Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Lova Jones. Prize winners were Alliene Farren, Anna Franks and Alice Peart. At the conclusion of the card games Mrs. Jones served tasty refreshments to those named and to Minnie Painter, Rose Phipps, Jean Giles and special guests, Lavon Ryan and Minnie Gillespie. Airman Promoted Jerry Bate, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bate, was promoted to Airman 2nd class at the Air Base in Thule, Greenland, according to word received by his grandmother, Mrs. E. A. Stokes. Jerry is a graduate of Tintic High and Joined the Air Corp a couple of years ago.
