Gourley of Eureka j Mrs. John Farren is announcing the engagement of a daughter, Linda, to Paul F. Gourley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gourley of Eureka. No date has been set for the nuptials. The prospective bride is a senior at Tintic High School, and Mr. Gourley is a graduate of Tintic High, and at present is stationed at Klamath Air Force Base in California. During his years at Tintic High he participated in the athletic program and was one of the top basketball members on the Tintic team. Mrs. Wilson Lee Mrs. Wilson Lee was hostess to the Entre Nous Literary Club last Wednesday evening. An interesting review of the book, Daughter of the Gold Rush" by Klondie Nelson and Carey Ford, was given by Myrtle Theriault. A discussion followed the review. A short business meeting was held and Mrs. Lee served tasty refreshments to members, Agnes Anderson, Mabel Butler, LaVon Ryan, Winona Thomas, Virginia Randle, Earlean Gear, Emily Andrew, Laura McIntyre and Mrs. Theriault. Harold (Huck) Kay, who is employed at La Salle, spent the weekend here with Mr. and Mr. and Mrs. Clare Van Aus-dare the proud parents of a baby daughter bom Sunday afternoon in the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City. The little tot checked in at 8 lbs. 7 ozs., and as yet a name hasnt been selected for the important little miss. New mother is the the former Geraldine Ferris, daughter of Mayor and Mrs. Charles Ferris of Eureka, who are very willing to tell about the charms of their first grandchild. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lavere Van Ausdal of al Sgt. and Mrs. V. D. (David) Johnson of Aanheim, Cal., are Women's Society of Christian Service met last Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Vem Nevers with Mrs. E. A. Stokes as hostess. A delicious luncheon was served prior to the meeting and the lesson for the day was given by Lavon Ryan. Attending were Ada Randle, Mabel Butler, Edith Pendray, Myrtle Theriault, LaVon Ryan, The . Marie Holmes, Virginia Randle and Annie Smith. Next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Myrtle Theriault Feb. 12. Cards and Business Featured MU Auxiliary Miners Union Auxiliary met in regular session Wednesday evening of last week with Virginia Bradford, acting president, presiding. After routine business an evening of cards was enjoyed with Bernice Gourley, Mildred David and lone Ryan winning ' prizes. Virginia Bradford and Hilda Webb were hostesses and served a tasty lunch. At the conclusion of the card games Mrs. Larsen served delicious refreshments to those named and to Mrs, Bart Ryan, Mrs. Billy Dean, Mrs. Max Berry, Mrs. Charles Warren, Mrs. Leo Sparrow. announcing the birth of a baby girl, bom January 15. The little miss has been named Vickie Lyn. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred Johnson of Eureka. |
