IUfe Mr. and Mrs. Percy Berry and Mr. and Mrs. Bud Durfee spent the Fourth of July at Ely, Nevada attending the big race meet there. James Lunt returned to his home in Rigby, Idaho after a visit in Tintic with his sons Earl and James Lunt. Ambrose Nord, chief office -- man for Tintic Standard Mining Co. was spending his vacation in Minnesota. Sheriff Heber Mellor and County attorney C. N. Leather bury were at" NephV attending a meeting of the County m mission. Don Manson and Eugene Cro-mwere attending summer school at the A. C. in Logan. They spent the weekend in Eureka visiting relatives. Mrs. C. E. Rife and daughters, Mildred and Joyce spent a few days in American Fbrk, Herriman, Salt Lake City and Ogaen. The regular meeting of the Kiwanis club was held with a small attendance. President P. J. Fennell presided and as it was a business session, heads of committees were called upon to make their monthy reports. LL Governor Heber Jones and John Rowe,, delegates to the International Convention held at San Francisco, were present and reported on the activities of the convention. Thomas J. Trythall Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Trythall Sr. of Ruth, Nev., former residents of this city, received his M. D. degree at Rush Medical College at Chicago. The famous Ute Stampede at Nephi was in full swing and according to June Kendall, general chairman, the three day st celebration was to be the and best ever. Sullivan Post of the American Legion elected a new set of officers. Of Kindergarten Dragerton Girl Enters Novitiate Mary Frances Murphy, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry T. Murphy, outstanding member of Good Shepherd Parish in Dragerton, left on June 21, for St. Louis, Mo., to enter the noviate of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, according to word received in Eureka this past week. Her mother, Mrs. Murphy will be remembered as Frankie McCann, a resident of Eureka for many years. Prior to her leaving for St. Louis, The Altar Society of Dragerton sponsored a silver tea and. farewell for Miss Mur-ph- y. In Hospital Harry Yamashita is confined to the Payson Hospital, where he is receiving medical treatment for a virus infection. Latest reports are that he is much improved whl :h will be good news to his many friends In Tintic. The Kindergarten class celebrated , the closing of school with an outing held at Payson Park. The youngsters were taken to the park by the Tintic school bus, and several of the mothers went along to help supervise the little people. Games, romping on the spacious lawns and a picnic lunch were enjoyed.' The kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Georgia jC. Jen' sen was in charge of the outing. Galloway, Incumbent, has filed an acceptance to the petition of nomination for Commissioner for Juab County on the Democratic ticket. Apple Tree Lost In Grass Fire A grass fire last Wednesday afternoon in Fitchville looked rather serious for a time, but with the prompt action of the Eureka Firemen, it was controlled in a short time.
