The small fry were kept busy during the afternoon with a variety of games, and Mrs. Nebeker served delicious food, beautiful complete with a to cake Adeles guests birthday who were: Irene and Jimmy Aitken, Carol Allinson, Teddy Haynes, JoLynn Jameson, Joan Stapley, Le Ann Kay, Charlie Yamashita, Danny Hopes, Charlene Sandstrom, Marine Bird, Warren and Jeanette Daniels, Diane, Ray and Linda Lunt, and Kent Bigler. Assisting Mrs. Nebeker were Mrs. Alice Jameson, Mrs. Lucille Bigler and Mrs. Luella Daniels. Mrs. Kate Ames Honored at Dinner Mrs. Kate Ames was honored on her birthday anniversary last week at a family dinner. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings, including a lovely birthday cake, was brought to her home by members of the family who were, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Hayward, Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Marrinus Tilby and son, Vincent, Genola; Mrs. Martha Gray, Salt Lake, Mrs. Ann Miller, Reno, Nevada; Mr. and Mrs. Cle Ames and son, Clelon Paul. A happy was the enjoyed by family members, and Mrs. Ames received some get-to-geth- er beautiful gifts. Birthday Noted At Card Party A group of friends called on' Mrs. Kate Ames last Friday and assisted her in celebrating her birthday anniversary. 500 was the evenings entertainment, and prizes were won by Mrs. Ames, high score; 2nd high, Mrs. Louie Barrett; house prize, Mrs. Arma Gour-ley; consolation, Mrs. Ann ler. 1 Mil- . ' In the card playing Mrs. Dean Rose was the winner of the high score, Mrs. Oscar Erickson the 2nd high, Mrs. Chriss Sort, and Mrs. ensen, the Bernice Rusby consolation. The officers were installed at an open meeting to which family members and friends were invited. The newly installed worthy matron gave a very fine talk and was presented with a beau- tiful bouquet of carnations by the Chapter. Two numbers were given by the Methodist Church choir, followed by a talk by the Worthy Patron, Leslie Randle; Mary Ellen Ferguson and Shan-n- a Ryan played a' piano duet. Other short, but interesting talks were given by various members of the Chapter and the distinguished guests. At the conclusion of the installation ceremonies, a delicious buffet supper was enjoyed by all those present. charge. While there Eastern Star Officers Guests at Blight Home Grand Officers in Eureka for the installation ceremonies for Order of Eastern Star, Chapter No. 19, held Saturday evening, Nov. 9, were honored at a buffet supper at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Blight. Hostesses for the well Mrs. arranged affair were Mrs. Ethel Blight, Donnelly and Mrs. Elysabeth Franke. Mrs. Franke is Grand Marshall for the Grand Chapter of Utah. The buffet table was centered with a colorful bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums, in keeping with the autumn season. Officers honored were Worthy Grand Matron, Fava K. Parker, Ogden; Rex Causer, Worthy Grand Patron, Price; and Associate Grand Officers, Mrs. Mary Zogg, Magna; Mrs. Edith Johnson, Salt Lake; Mrs. Lola Davis, Magna; Mrs. Rex Causer, Price. Others attending were Mr. and Mrs. Selmer Lower, Ogden, Mrs. Elva Bonner, Alexander Blight, and hostesses Mrs. Blight, Mrs. Donnelly and Mrs. Franke. Cards, Refreshments Club' Diversions The Bridge Club met Tues- day evening at the home of Mrs. Gerald Drussell. November is membership month, and Cleo Judge, membership chairman, gave a short talk, and her sons, Vernon and Raymond played three numbers on steele guitars, which were enjoyed very much by all attending. Chief among the items discussed at the meeting was the annual Christmas collection for disabled veterans. The group decided to ask for donations of money, which will be . sent to the Veterans hospital in Salt Lake, where gifts will be purchased for the veterans. All those interested in donating money should contact Mrs. Pannell or Virgie Bradford. This money should be given as soon as possible in order to have it reach the hospital in time to purchase gifts for Christmas. In the past, gifts were donated for the worthy cause, but many of the items received were not suitable for the veterans families, and the hospital attendants asked that cash be sent, and they will do the purchasing of the items asked for. Members were asked to contact the townspeople and ask for the rims of cans from MJB and Folgers coffee, and the Auxiliary in turn will send them to the Veterans hospital in Salt Lake which will enable them to buy coffee urns for the hospital. This is a statewide project and your cooperation will be much appreciated by the organization. Plans were discussed for the Christmas party which will be held at the next meeting, December 9. A turkey dinner with all the trimmings will be served, and gifts will be exchanged among the members. A. donation from the Unit for the Polio Ward in the Veterans hospital in Salt Lake, was passed on by the group, and a check forwarded to Salt Lake. Following the business meeting, 500 and Bingo were played, with Myrtle Pett and Blanche Beck, winning prizes. lone Ryan and Mildred Davis, hostesses for the evening, served a tasty lunch. , Mrs. Ralph Hopes entertain- ed the Birthday Club Monday evening, the honored guest was Mrs. Frank Ewell. Games were enjoyed and the hostess served a delicious lunch and Mrs. Ewell was presented with a lovely gift by the members. Those attending were Maxine Schow, Madge Burraston, Faye Wall, Margaret Lucas, Alliene Farren, Grace Chatwin, Miyo Minnie Painter, Yamashita, Alice Peart and Mrs. Ewell. Mrs. Gerald Drussell Gives Son Party Mrs. Gerald Drussell entertained at a birthday party recently honoring her son Kirk, on the occasion of his 9th birthday anniversary. The young people enjoyed a delicious party lunch, complete with that all important item of food, a beautifully decorated birthday cake. The lunch was served at 6:30, after which Kirk took his guests to a movie. Helping Kirk celebrate his big day were Barry Franks, David Bernini, Randy Butler, Tommy Taylor, Michael Daniels, Jimmy Whitehead, Freddy Spencer, Kent Bigler, Roger Allinson and Michael Drussell. Rebekahs Enjoy Cards, Refreshments Columbia Rebekah Lodge No. 2, met in regular session on Thursday of last week, with Noble Grand, Myrtle Rowley, conducting. After disposing of the business meeting, cards were enjoyed, with Mrs. Mathina Dalton winning the prize for 500, Mrs. Hilda Webb, the cut prize, and Mrs. Virginia Bradford, raffle prize. They visited Scottys Castle, and the trip was made especially enjoyable for Mrs. Van Wag. oner, since her son, Charles, drove to Death Valley Saturday and spent the evening, and part of Sunday with her. Enroute home they visited with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Steele in Ely, Nev. The Steeles are former residents of Eureka. They report wonderful weather on the entire trip, and all in all it was a most enjoyable one.
