Windy Taylor thought "Taylor Fond" would bo nice, because his place borders name-changin- w it for about 30 feetl But wa Anally decided to caU it "Turtle Pond" In honor of the real owners. From when I sit, naming that pond wasn't tha moat important thing In tha world but tho ui wo did it mu. Everyone offered his opinion and then the majority vole decided it. Sal Is well known to thousands of persons who have visited the hatchery. She waa brought there years ago by a state game warden who found her abandoned in the hills. It was presumed that Sal's mother had been killed during the fall hunt. Life at the hatchery has been easy on the animal with one exception. Several years ago a boy threw a rock at her in an attempt to get her to move around the pen. She lost an eye as the result. A few months ago the game department. under direction of J. Perry Egan, director, trapped a young spiked bull at the Hardware ranch in Cache county. The bull, at first didn't take kindly to imprisonment with Sal.
