This will be a dinner meeting highlighted by a membership kick off drive. There will he reNrts and projections by the various committee chairmen. It has lnon decided that without a doubt, Duehesne has the friendliest, most helpful, most courteous and cheerful postal department in the state. It is a pleasure to work with these men in our everyday dealings and we want them to know that their attitude is very much appreciated. Our sincere thanks to Art Taylor, Don May hew and Keith Rowley for making our community a better place to live in Duchesne. We are anxiously looking forward to the opening of the Duchesne Cafe. Working hard towards the opening are Dorothy and Frank Trevino and their five children. The Trcvenos arc from Odesa, then. The Ash Lon's have really been as asset to Duchesne. AI has been the president of the boosters dub and responsible for our football field and uniforms. He has also been active in Lions and Roy Smuts. His wife Marge has been a den mother, girl smut leader and member of the Mother's Club. This couple has supported the community and school all the way. The Ashton's and their four children say they have enjoyed Durhesne and will miss the small town atmosphere. Duchesne says they will miss the Ash- - ton's and their contributions! We wish them good lurk in their new venture. In the Chamber spotlight this week is Ia-- s Wallace, the developer, owner and manager of Indian Canyon Mobile Estates. Ia-and his wife Carole are both formerly from the Salt I,ake area and have been in Duchesne for 2 lh years. The Wallaces have two children and they say they plan to make Duchesne their home for good. They see a great potential in our area and Lea is just the tyie to help us reach it. I,cs is a goer and a doer. He has been a major developer of the Duchesne Area Chamber of Commerce, the Swimming s the Twin Rivers Development project and the Duchesne Industrial Park as well as developing the pool committee, mobile estates. The Indian Canyon Mobile Estates was built from the ground up. There are'now 60 spares, with all utilities, playground, and pavement throughout. The estates are developing all the time with a special emphasis on beautification. Les, a concerned citizen was instrumental in helping to have the city dump moved, which we highly commend. Clemons. 83, was born June 20. 1890 in Denver, Cola There she worked with the Red Cross, assisting in Denver hospitals and received her practical nurses's training during World War 1. In 1925 she moved to San Diego, Calif., where she resided until 1938, when she moved to Duchesne to care for her ailing aunt, Nellie Feller. Elected Duchesne City Treasurer in 1947, she held this position until 1957. A part-timbookkeeper at Kohl's in Dushe acted as Deputy County Rechesne, corder for one term of office, under UnDorothea Allred Morton, 1951-195der Maxine Rurdick, she served as Deputy Recorder until 1957 when she retired and returned to California. A community-minded person, she was also an active member of the Ladies Aid of Myton Presbyterian Church. Iteskling in Hemet, Calif., at the time of her death.
