Reigning queen, for this years event will he Sherry Workman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wane Workman, Roosevelt. First attendant was grabbed by Gale Mecham, daughter of Mr. and mrs. Glen Meeham, Mt. Home. Second attendant is Tammy Dorrity, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lucky Dorrity of Duchesne. Mias Congeniality is another daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mecham, Sherry Mecham. Turnout for the contest was very good, and the three judges who were from the area had a difficult choice to make. The girls were chosen on the point system. The Saddlettes wish to thank the judges and all the girls who participated in, making the tryouts such a success. Kim Goodrich, reigning queen from last year, showed the contestants, the riding pattern that would be expected of them in the arena and on which they would be selected. Kim is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gary Goodrich, Bluebell and she was crowned the new queen with the same crown she had received the previous year. These girls will ride in the rodeo the night of the 20lh and also the following day in the parade, which will proceed the rodeo that afternoon. A Salt Lake City man was pronounced dead on arrival at the Duchesne County hospital early Saturday evening. According to Duchesne County Deputy Sheriff. Bernard Hadden, Lee Eskelson and his wife were fishing in the Rock Creek area located about fifty miles north west of Duchesne when he complained of severe chest pains. He and his wife drove to the Rock Creek Lodge when Mr. Eskelson slumped over the wheel of the vehichle he was driving. At the lodge, the Jeep Fosse and the Sheriffs office was notified and Fred Goodhue of the Jeep Fosse met the car the man was being transported in, he was then transferred to the jeep and again started to the hospital when they met the ambulance, being accompanied by Deputy Hadden. They accompanied the man to the hospital in Roosevelt where he was pronounced dead.
