Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Goodhue and children, are Mrs. Goodhue's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Mattsen, Montrose, Colo. Company at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua Timothy last week was their aon Sgt. and Mrs. Cloyd Timothy. Cloyd flew to Texas Air Force Base for more training and his wife and family will stay with the Morris Larsen's in Orem while he is gone. August 9. DORENE FRESTON MELVIN MURDOCK 722-201- Mr. Veda Labru Mr. and Mrs. Jim Reidhead and family traveled to St. George in Southern Utah fur the long holiday weekend for a vacation and to attend a family reunion on Dorene Freston and Melvin Murdock will marry in the Salt Lake Temple Dorene Freston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Freston, Roosevelt, takes pleasure in announcing her engagement to Melvin Murdock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Colin Murdock also of Roosevelt. Dorene graduated from Union with the class of 73, and while in school participated in music, all state chorus, drill team, and other school dubs. She is a four Mrs. Veda Mr. and Mrs. Orvel Hullinger and Lonnie, returned home Friday after spending two weeks touring Mexico. They visited Mexico City, they traveled up the Coast and back in the U. S. at Tucson. They said it rained almost every day and the weather was cool. Mrs. Merle Ross arrived home Wed- - Medical Clinic. Melvin is a Union graduate and was with the class of '72. He was active in football, wrestling and music and has attended one year at Weber State College. lie is presently employed with Roosevelt Pipe Rockers. The attractive young couple have set August 9, as their wedding date, and will be married in the Salt Lake Temple. A reception will honor them on August 10. s Mr. and Mr. Thorns Gentry and Pat went to Ogden June 23 where they attended a reception honoring Mra. Fred Neuber. Mr. and Mrs. Kent Angua and children, Mr. and Mra. Don Petterson and family. Mr. and Mra. Milea Peterson, and Mr. and Mra. Donald Peteraon and famly, Riverton visited with Mra. Cliata Angus Saturday. The group went fishing for the week. Mrs. Angua accompanied them Saturday night and she returned home Sunday. s Last Week, Mrs. Thomas Gentry and Mrs. Georgia Costuroa went to Butte, Mont., where they attended the grand chapel of the Eastern Stars. Lloyd laat week were Mr. and Mra. Lowell Wall, Monterey, Calif. They are former residents of Ioka. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Day, Salt Lake visited her also, s Mr. and Mra. James Zobell, spent last week visiting in Salt Lake with relative. They visited Mr. and Mra. Walt Zobell, Mr. and Mra. Bert Dennis, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Perry, Kay Zobell, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Abrum, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Zobell. They also went to Springville to visit Mr. and Mrs. Garn Lloyd and family. Glen Alexander returned home Bridge Party Mrs. Viola Harmston entertained a few friends at her home Tuesday evening honoring Mrs. Hazel Ashton, Mra. Beryl Mullins and Mrs. Gladys Zimmerman of Salt Lake. A very enjoyable time was spent playing bridge. Fri- day from the hospital in Salt Lake where he was recovering from injuries received in an accident in Blanding. Dennis Ferguson was an overnight guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Ferguson, last week. He was enroute from Sandy to Green River, Wya Mr. and Mrs. Orvel Hullinger, Lonnie and Mr. and Mra. Gene Gurr, attended the funeral services for George Chase, Salt Lake Saturday. Mr. Chase was Mr. Hullinger's brother in law. s Don Massey, Williams, Ariz., visited with Mr. and Mra. Sewell Massey and Mrs. Merle Ross last week. He is their nephew. Birthday Bridge Mrs. Robert Huish hosted the Birthday Bridge club at her home Saturday. Mrs. Wesley Jensen was a guest. A lunch was served and the afternoon was spent playing bridge. The prizes were won by Mrs. Anne Platt, Mrs. Vi Harmston and Mrs. George Miller. Mrs. Marsha Miller and Jack Christensen, Vernal, sang some vocal duets for them. Speaking vows on June 8, in the Naples Ward Relief Society room were Arlinda Karren and David Hicken. NOTICE! The brides mother wore an afternoon street length dress of pale blue and a corsage of white rosebuds and blue carnations, trimmed in blue. The mother of the groom chose a floor length pale blue gown for the wedding and her corsage of white rose buds and blue carnations set it off beautifully. Best man at the wedding was Gene Searle and the ushers were Gary Hicken, Randy Gilbert and Charley Hansen. The wedding cake was made by Ellen Gardiner, an aunt of the bride and was a white three tiered cake with blue roses as trim and a minature bride and groom on the top. In charge of the serving were Ellen Gardiner, Eva Gardiner, Charlet Davis and Betty Gilbert, those in charge of the gifts were Karren Gilbert, Denise Evans, Saturday Knighters Mr. and Mra. Lloyd Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Labrum hosted the Saturday Knighters at the Frontier Grill Saturday night. A dinner was served and the evening was spent playing bridge. Mr. and Mrs. Emerson Oberhansly and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Deller won the prizes. and blue carnations. "A HICKEN WED Arlinda Rae Karren and David Gerald Hicken were united in holy matrimony in a double ring ceremony in the Naples ward Relief Society room on June 8 with Bishop Marvin Jackson officiating. Arlinda is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Karl D. Karren of Vernal and David is the son of Mr. and Mra. Gerald T. Hicken of Roosevelt. A reception honored the young couple on the same evening in the Naples Ward Cultural Hall and the bride was lovely in a white gown with sheer sleeves and trimmed with lace roses on the bodice and on the train. A large ruffle adorned the bottom of the dress and train. Her shoulder length veil was caught by a lace headpiece. Her bouquet was of white roses cascading downward with blue car nations entwined in among the roses and blue ribbon and lace trimming the entire bouquet.
