She was born Jan. 12, 1893 in Lead-vlll- e, Colo,, to Archibald and Mary Jane Lampshire Wall. She married Fredrick H. Neumeyer In 1908. He died in 1958. She was a member of the IDS Church and past president of the Lapolnt chapter of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Survivors Include sons and daughters, Fredrick Earl, Tooele; Mrs. Emerson (May) Otierhansly, Neola; Donald, Roose- - Neola Highway work begins The hlyhway between Roosevelt and Neola is being resurfaced with the resultant bad road conditions until It Is completed. Northwestern Engineers are building the highway under the direction of the State Highway Department. The project Is expected to cost about le $525,000 for the strip which begins at the L & L Motor corner and extends to tlie newly completed highway near Neola. According to the Highway engineer, John Keyes, the project should be completed by late July. There are some 35 men employed on the construction of the ten-mi- project. Mr. Keyes noted that there Is a 25 mile per hour speed limit on the highway from Roosevelt to Neola and that several accidents had occured because drivers are not conforming to this restriction. He said that every effort would be made to keep the road In as good condition as possible to aid drivers who must drive the highway but that drivers should be cautioned to obey the speed limit to avoid serious accidents. Randy W. Affleck Is assigned in Germany Army Private First class Randy W. Affleck, 17, son of Mrs. Jean A. Richards, Roosevelt, recently was assigned to the 42nd Heavy equipment maintenance company near Furth, Germany. , PFC. Affleck Is a special equipment maintenance repairman with the company. He entered the army In September 1971, received basic training at Ft. Lewis, Wash., and was last stationed at Ft. Belvolr, Va. The privates father, Andrew Affleck, lives at 392 n. 75 E., North Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral rites held for Dennis K. Ivie Funeral services were conducted Monday at 1 p.m. In the Brldgeland Ward Chapel for Dennis K. Ivie, 23, who died April 27 of Injuries suffered In an automobile accident near Meeker, Colo. He was born Jan. 21, 1949 In Roosevelt to Verl Ray and Alene Mecham Me. He married Carla Thompson Oct. 13, 1967 In Orem and was later divorced. He was a farmer and served in the U. S. Army In Vietnam and Germany. He was a member of the IDS Church. Survivors Include a son, Danny Kay, Orem; parents, Alden and Alene Thomas, Orem; Verl and Dorothy Ivie, Utahn; Grandmother, Mrs. Sylvia Mecham, Duchesne; brothers and sisters, Mrs. Altai (Carolyn) Wide, Hal C., both Duchesne; Douglas Ray, U. S. Army, Germany; Mrs. Ronald (Deborah) Jundley, Orem; half brothers, and half sisters, Patsy Ann, Tony Lynn, Terry Lee, Larry Dean, Verl R. Jr., all Utahn, a step brother, Tommy Thomas, Vernal. Duchesne, who died April 29 In a Salt for Billy Lake hospital of causes Incident to age. He was born April 16, 1876 In Ouray, to Albert and Watonas Chapoose. He was a former. Student scholarship funds sought for UDEC The Uintah Basin Scholarship Commit- tee Is now raising funds to provide scholarships for students who attend UBEC. Last year six scholarships, which Include tuition, fees, and books for one quarter of college, were available to students of every area high school. Recipients are selected on the basis of scholastic performance, college Interest, and financial need. Members of the scholarship Committee Dean Frandsen, Roosevelt; Bill Gibson and Doyle Huber, Vernal; and Ferron Peterson, Duchesne Invite contributions from anyone who wishes to help the Center and college students. While a full scholarship Is $130 , any amount will help, the Committee added. The scholarship award Is presented In the donors name at a high school awards assembly. Among the many advantages which would result from keeping students In the Uintah Basin to attend college, the Committee noted that the cost for a years attendance at a university away from home between mini mu mall y averages At UBEC, a years $1,000 to 1,500. tuition Is only $315, Moreover, the number of students who attend school away from the area costs the Basin thousands of dollars annually. In addition, students who remain at home remain more closely under the family Influence for guidance. Finally, these scholarships are tax deductible, business contributions. Among this years contributors are Uintah Basin Telephone Company, Bradshaw Automotive and Uintah Farmers Union. Contributions can be made to the UBEC Scholarship Fund and sent to PO Box 668, Roosevelt, Utah 84066. Mr, Peterson died April 20 after a short illness. Mr. Peterson was born on January 12, 1884 in Spanish Fork to Soren and Margaret Rlgcrup Peterson. He was married to Astrld Nathalla Dagmore Nlssen on February 8, 1911. They settled on a form in Roosevelt In 1913, later moving Into town. In 1934 they moved to Spanish Fork but still retained their property In Roosevelt. Mr. Peterson Is survived by Ids widow and three daughters: Mrs. Elmo (Aurelia) Johnson, Mrs. Grandon (La Nora) Allred, and Mrs. Jack (Elaine) Hewitt. He Is also survived by eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Funeral services held For W.
