After the meeting the parents went to the school house where they visited with teachers In various rooms and enjoyed light refreshments. Two new programs recently adopted In the school were shown to the parents. They Included Programmed reading and word In color. Colleen Collett visited relatives In Farm Creek last week. She Is now living at Farmington, N. M. Georgia Walkup Is a patient at a hospital In Salt Lake. Wilma Robb returned home this past week after being In Salt Lake for medical -- ks to attend a Nutrition class, Mr. and Mrs. Benny Ridley are the parents of a baby girl born Oct. 6 at the Duchesne Co. Hospital. Mrs. Harriett Johnson accompanied other tribal leaders td Albuquerque N.M. to attend NCA1 meetings. The Whlterocks Headstart held a cake walk on Oct. 10, at the head start center. After the cakewalk a dance was held to honor Dave Schick a VISTA worker who Is being released soon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Manning are parents of a baby boy. Mrs. Delma Long attended the wedding of her granddaughter, Paula Palmer and Larry Pratt In Sacramento, Calif, on Sept. 27. Paula Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Palmer of Sacramento. .She visited a week at the Palmer home, also was a dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Curtis. She went by plane. Roger Dean Tom of Salt Lake visited relatives In Whlterocks last weekend. The road committee of the Vernal Chamber of Commerce, under the direction of Chairman Senator Ralph Preece and In cooperation with Uintah County and the Utah Department of Highways, announced today that a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony would be held on October 16, at 2 p.m. The Ceremony will be near the Horse Shoe Curve, about halfway between Lapoint and Vernal. The completion of the Vernal-Lapol- nt Highway will provide for a safer and easier means of travel between the west and east sides of Uintah County. The new highway construction Is 11.4 miles, 2.1 miles being completed In 1968 and 9.3 miles completed at this time.
