Show BPW STANDARD - RmiKPvelt, Utah Thursday, July 17, 1969 The Roosevelt Business and Professional Womens club members observed the Golden Anniversary of BPW with a Luau on the patio of the home of Mrs. Joe McGuffln, Monday evening. Beverly Clark engaged to Floyd W. Chase "Pride Mr. and Mrs. Glen L. Clark announce the engagement and forth coming marriage of their daughter, Beverly Ann, to Floyd W. Chase son of Mr. and Mrs. William Chase of Rupert, Ida. They will be married July 26 at the Tablona Ward Chapel. Miss Clark Is a graduate of Tablona high school where she was active In sports and pep club. She also attended LDS Business college. Mr. Chase attended Mlneo high school In Rupert. He has served a tour of duty with the United States Navy. The young couple plan to make their home In Salt Lake City where both are employed. Mrs. Sarah Goodrich notes 90th birthdate Mrs. Sarah Goodrich was honored on her 90th birthday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Franklin Peterson. Mrs. Axel Anderson, Mrs. LeRoy Luck, Vernal and Mrs. Peterson were the hostesses. Those present were Mrs. Joe Rawlings, Mrs. Nora Gaines, Mrs. Hazel Peterson, Mrs. Sarah Norton, Mrs. May Houtx, Mrs. Lucy Milligan and Mrs. Cora Goodrich. Most of the ladles are between 85 and 90 years of age. Mrs. Howard Reynolds, a daughter, made the beautiful birthday cake, but was unable to attend due to Illness In the family. A 50th year MRS. MILLIGAN IS HOSTESS Mrs. James Milligan was hostess to the Neola Bridge club. Bouquets of summer flowers were used as decorations. Mrs. Terry Huxford and Mrs. Larry Allred were guests. Roosevelt members Invited community leaders to Join with them in the nationwide observance of the 50th anniversary of the National Federation of Business and Professional Womens Clubs which was founded In St. Louis on July 16, 1919 and today Includes 180,000 women In 3,812 clubs Special recognition was given to those who have held continuous members membership In the BPW for the longest time. Affiliation with the local club carries with It membership In the National Federation and the International Federation. Research and educational activities are conducted by the Business and Professional Womens foundation. JUST-A-MER- E CLUB MEETS Mrs. J. D. Walker was hostess to the re club at her residence Thursday evening. Beautiful roses and summer flowers were the decorations. Mrs. Ward Mulford was a guest. A refreshing luncheon was served. Go to BPW convention Mrs. Elmer (Josephine) Yergensen, Mlllicent Maxine Natchees and Mrs. Lon A. (Adelyn) Logan will be leaving this weekend to attend the national Business and Professional Womens Convention which will be held In St. Louis July 20 through 2G. Mrs. Yergensen will attend as president of the Utah Federation of BPW, Miss Natchees will represent Utah as the BPW sponsored "Young Career Woman" and Mrs. Logan Is state BPW parliamentarian. Convention headquarters will be the Chase Park Plaza Hotel but most of the meetings will be held In the Kell Auditorium. They will accompany the 15 club members from Utah who will be attending the convention. The state convention Is scheduled to be held In Roosevelt next year with headquarters at the Bottle Hollow complex which will be under construction soon. Ilene Storey engaged to Alden H. Hamblin Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. Storey, Vernal, former residents of Duchesne, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ilene Laree, to Alden Haines Hamblin, son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Hamblin, Montwell. Miss Storey graduated from Uintah high school with the class of 66 where she was active In Pep Club, FHA and German club. She Is presently employed in Provo. Mr. Hamblin graduated from Union high school with the class of 65. He attended He also served Utah State University. an LDS Mission, to the Southern States. The young couple plan to be married August 15 In the Logan LDS Temple and will be honored at a reception that evening In the Glines Ward Church In Vernal. MONDAY BRIDGE CLUB Mrs. Grant Killian entertained the Monday bridge July 9. An arrangement of snapdragons and petunias were the decorations. Mrs. Ward Mulford was a guest. A delicious luncheon was served. A wedding breakfast was served to the in LES FEMMES CLUB HAS SUMMER SOCIAL EVENT The Les Femmes club summer party was held at the Roosevelt city park July 2 with Mrs. Clay Frandsen and Mrs. Bill Hall as They played volleyball and other games. A business meeting was conducted by club president, Mrs. Phil Brotherson and wedding party members with Mr. and Mrs. Snellen Johnson as hosts, they are sister and brother in law of the bridegroom. The newlyweds were honored at a reception Saturday evening at the Roosevelt 2nd Ward cultural hall. The hall decor consisted of translucent colonades topped with potted ferns. Serving tables formed refreshments were served. NEIGHBORHOOD Cindy Johnson of lander, Wyo. Is visiting her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Goodrich and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Monte Williams took Randy, to Salt lake on Thurshe boarded the plane for San Diego, Calif, where he Is stationed. Randy Is serving In the Navy. Members and descendents of the Alva L. Usonbee family had a two day family reunion at the Sand Wash Dam Saturday and Sunday. Around 80 family members were present, those attending from out of the Basin were; Mary Lee and Tex Gines and two boys of Heber; Janet and Kent Williams and 2 boys and the Ernest re Winkler family of Vernal; Hosea and Lisonbee and Kenneth and Faye Goodrich and family of Orem; the Mer-re- ll Usonbee and the Doyle Usonbee families; Jack and Billie Woods and children of Lehl; Mike and Mary Usonbee and daughter of Cedar City; Gene and Bessie Mace and family and Larry and Birdie Almond snd family, Cliff and Leah Usonbee, Mr. and Mrs. Jay Usonbee, Shelby and Elva Usonbee and daughter all of the Salt Lake City area; Mrs. Raebelle All-r- ed and children of Roseburg, Ore.; Ronald and Emma Lee Usonbee and family of Fillmore; Lynn and Connie Long of Hunter. Sunday Mrs. Hilda Malr and her son Marvin and his family of Echo visited at the Bristol home. Visiting at the Sylvia Goodrich home during the week were Mrs. lydla Hancock and Rae and Velva Gagon of Salt Lake. Dr. Dale Allred brought his wife and children to Bluebell for a visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Bird and other family members. Dale returned to his home In Roseburg, Ore. and his wife and family remained here for a longer their son, day where SEWING Mrs. Woodrow Nellson entertained the Neighborhood sewing club Wednesday. Lynn Bingham, Paula Murphy and Linda Shaw were bridesmaids. The maid of honor wore rose pink and bridesmaids pale pink nylon embossed floor-leng- th gowns and carried matching parasols. All wore rose corsages. The mother of the bride wore a pale pink linen gown with lace trim and the mother of the bridegroom wore pale pink lace gown. Both wore rose corsages. Talmage Bird, brother of the bridegroom was best man with Dee Peterson greeting guests at the door. The four telred wedding cake was white trimmed with pink tulle set In white It rested on a mirror and was swans. surrounded by lights and fern. Assisting with the serving were misses Annette Wilson, Doreen Freston, Diane Larsen and Gale Decker. Mrs. Earl Reary, Paula Allred and Penny Nelson were in charge of gifts assisted by La-R-ae and Mari Lee Allred and Brennan Peterson. Mrs. Dee Peterson presided at the guest book. Background music was played during the evening by Mrs. Eldon Mortensen, Mrs. Talmage Bird and Miss Kaye Berg-qul- Wyasket, Ft. Duchesne. Mrs. Danniel Dennis and Mrs. Lynn Nickoi werr. hostesses.
