I 1967 SQBCCSBQ, I mallMB Jean Noble, daughter of Mr. Lorena Noble, was named Vernal Indian Days SatMis urday night to climax the Indian Days celebration held In Vernal. The Vernal Chamber of Commerce presented Miss Noble with a dozen red roses and will sponsor her to the National Miss Indian America Contest to be held In Sheridan, Wyoming this summer. They will also pay her entrance fee of $25.00. First runnerup was Miss Connie Murray, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Julius O. Murray of Mis Duchesne. They had five -- runner-u- p was Shlrleta Tabbee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Tabbee of Randlett. Ten girls, all members of the Ute Tribe, participated In the day long competition. The contestants along with chaper ones, Judges and special guests were feted at a tea at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Dan Price That during the afternoon. evening, they were treated to a chuck wagon dinner, courtesy Cafe. Final Judging was of at the Uintah High Auditorium where the contestants dressed In traditional Indian finery. Francis Wyasket, on behalf of the Ute Trive, presented each of the runnerups with bead' necklaces. The Ute Trive will also contlbute to Miss Nobles travel expenses to the national competition. Mrs. Dan Price and Mrs. Alfred Parrlette assisted the Ver nal Chamber of Commerce, In getting the contest underway.
