Show Winter range will tie noted. From these tranon sect measurements, dccr-u.-- c in intensive area will le studies, deer counts outlined Kales m tins area will begin April 4. and continue ihr.Migii must of the month, as follows: Range investigation rides are now scheduled on herd units of the lt:uin. These rides are normally made b- - horsc-iKicbut in some areas the investigations are made on foot and by vehicle. An invitation is extended to particiiuie in as many of the studies as tlie schedule permits. Range rides are mndc for the specific purpose of seeing the range and deer conditions and deer-us- e over extensive areas of deer winter ranges. Contrary to popular belief, these investigations are not conducted primarily to count deer. They are held to acquaint persons interested in the deer resources with broad, current, general range conditions. Too many factors effect deer counts for this to be a reliable method of determining trend in current populations. The number of people participating, present weather conditions, time of the season, snow depths, and quesof deer tions of duplication counted all effect total count. More important is the deer food resource and this is what is considered to a groat extent. .i-,-- k, WIN ALL-GIRTOURNEY' This group of Indian girl from Whitt rooks, Myton and Fort Duchesne won first place honors at the recent tournament heltl at Ignacio, Colo.
