The Board of County Commissioners of Salt Lake County, State of Utah, ordains as follows: SECTION 1. The following highways within Salt Lake County, Utah, are hereby designated thru highways: Redwood Road, from 21st South Street to Highway No. 156 South. Main Street, from 21st South Street to 33 rd South Street. Highland Drive, from Elgin Avenue to Highway No. 72 South. Highway No. 72, south from Highland Drive to Holliday Cottonwood Road. Holliday Cottonwood Road, from Highway No. 72 South, northerly to Junction with Casper's Cutoff and thence along said Cutoff to Highland Drive. Thirty-thir- d South, from State Street to 27th East Street. SECTION 2. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive, or cause to be driven, any vehicle laterally into or across a thru highway without bringing such vehicle to a full stop before entering upon such thru highway, except at an intersection or other place on a thru highway where a deputy sheriff or other traffic officer is stationed to direct traffic, or where there is in operation a lighted traffic semaphore. SECTION 3. It shall be unlawful for any person to fail to comply with any traffic direction given by any deputy sheriff or other traffic officer stationed on any highway in Salt Lake County. SECTION 4. It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or cause to be driven into or across an intersection of any street in Salt Lake County where there is in operation a lighted traffic semaphore, except when such semaphore shows a green light in the direction from which such vehicle is approaching. SECTION 5. Vehicles operated by deputy sheriffs of Salt Lake County and all vehicles of the Salt Lake County y Fire Department shall have the over all other vehicle traffic upon the highways of Salt Lake County. Such vehicles operated by deputy sheriffs or by the Salt Lake County Fire Department shall be equipped with a siren, and upon the sounding of such siren, all other vehicles then upon the highway along which such sheriff's or Fire Department vehicle is being operated shall immediately move to the outside of the highway and come to a full stop to permit the vehicle of the sheriff or of the Salt Lake County Fire pass unobstructed. Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding 3299.00, or by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not longer than six months, or by both such fine and imprisonment. ordinance shall SECTION 7.
