Bureau, - Locol Promoter Picks Classy Array of Talent for Monster Card to be Given Monday Evening Two Six Round Bouts Feature. Vice-Preside- KEEPING the Bees1 slogan has been buzzing in the ears of Promoter R. Verne McCullough for the past two weeks, and that he is strong for baseball.. and the Bees, is made manifest in the announcement that the entire net proceeds of Mondays fight card will be turned over to the committee in charge of keeping professional baseball in the City of the Saints. The action brought considerable favorable comment when made public, and a monster crowd will be in attendance at McCulloughs arena Monday goes without saying, for who, in Salt Lake City, wants to be without high class baseball during the coming summer months ? The card as arranged by McCullough is one of the best balanced of the season, with two six round bouts The first forming the headliners. should be a whirlwind affair from start to finish, when Toughie ODowd of Pocatello clashes, with Tiger Bob Robbins (colored) o- - Oakland,- Cal. ODowd is rated as one of the best lads in the intermountain region, being considered on a par with Jess Stringham, and having met such men as Imey Garfinkle, Johnnie Hanna, Howard Ball and others. Robbins will be remembered as having been here several seasons ago and winning in handy fashion from Roy McCarty, and fighting a sensational draw with Ed Shepherd. Walter Still, the famous Colorado southpaw, needs no introduction to local fans, and for that matter, - neither does Jess Hobson, whose meteoric rise to headline position has been little short of phenomenal. This bout should also be a humdinger from the opening gong, as both' men are willing workers, and can take plenty of punishment. The head preliminary bout between Peg Johnson and Eddie Hansen may even outshine the two six round headliners, for with each having a victory against the other, and being promised a head line event, these two boys will be busy every minute. Both work fast, hit hard, and there is just a bit of grudge to be settled when they take the ring. Steve Stirlich of Bingham will step off four rounds with Lou Blend, local biffer, and here is another bout that should be filled with flying gloves. Steve is new at the boxing game, but is a powerful chap, who should make things interesting for Blend. Bert Jensen of Brigham and Pete Jensen of Riverton are slated for four rounds, and Perry Saatch and Eddie Heuser, a couple of willing youngsters, will provide the thrills in the eye opener.
