The act is well staged and by Mrs. played most competently Reid and her company and was well received by a capacity audience. Despite the fact that Mrs Wallace Reid produces, finances and stars in her own productions, the actress 'finds time to devote her remarkable energies to womens clubs throughout the country and is a most active worker Mrs ing settings and gives the ladies of the company opportunity to wear some stunning gowns. The story of The Gold Diggers revolves about a number of chorus girls, principal of whom, Jerry, (Miss Gladys George enters upon a series of wild escapades to convince the rich uncle of the fiancee of her girl' friend that the girl friend is much above his conception of the average run of show girls. Little does Jerry suspect that the rich uncle (Ben Erway) is not a dowdering old man, but a handsome, well intentioned gentleman. As Jerrys escapades are all arranged for uncles benefit, to show how wild she is in comparison to her girl friend, she finds herself in a dilemma when she discovers that she is in love with uncle. Miss Daisy Del Wilcox will be seen as the girl friend, Violet, Franklin Parker as Wally, the man Violet loves, Noel Leslie as uncles legal advisor, who knows all about women, but finds himself doing everything for them that he advises uncle not to do, while others of the cast will be seen in delightful roles. Inasmuch as Belasco's plays have always been big drawing cards in Salt Lake, it is quite likely that The Gold Diggers will be one of the outstanding theatrical treats of the present season. The Gold Diggers will be present ed every night next' week with matinees Sunday, Thursday and Saturday.
