Show THE CITIZEN 10 MINING AND INDUSTRY MINING PROFITABLE BUSINESS. The recent gold strike in Nevada has resulted in further discoveries of gold in that state, also in other states and has greatly stimulated mining. This strike recalls the strike of the Tintic Standard, and ever since strikes in other mines of the Tintic district are of monthly occurrence. It has brought many promising properties to the front. The Eureka Lilly, for instance, which mining stock has jumped from 2 cents per share to $3.20. There are many other legitimate stock increases based upon the production and output of the respective mines. Upon a survey of the Tintic district, the United States Smelting company has decided that the Central Standard ground, which lies to the north of the Eureka Lilly, contains valuable ores and it is developing this ground at a big expense and hopes in the near future to strike some of the big ore bodies believed to be located there. D. C. Jackling, who was here a few days ago, said that the copper ores in Bingham were inexhaustible. The Utah Copper company was developed by Mr. Jackling from a small proposition to the largest open cut copper mine of the world, and today this company pays taxes upon over fifty millions of dolars worth of property, being the largest taxpayer in this county by far. Developments in Park City are increasing the ore outputs of that camp beyond all expectations, and2 all indications point to a healthy mining growth in Utah for several generations to come.
