Show THE CITIZEN WEEKLY INDUSTRIAL REVIEW Engineering Protects & Building Construction Under Way In The Intermountain States Utah ranks eleventh state in timENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION BUILDING CONSTRUCTION The weekly report of the engineering and building construction is announced by the Associated General Contractors of America, and is as follows: BidSi are being opened at City and County building, Provo, Utah, 10 a. m., April 20, 1926, on paving in Paving District No. 18, that city, being on University avenue between Second North and Sixth North streets. Plans may be seen at A. G. C. office. Check for $750 with bids. Bids will be received up to 2 p. m. April 19th at office of Granite School district, 3212 South State street, this city, by A. George Lavin for erection of two class rooms and auditorium to the Lincoln school on Thirty-nintSouth and Fifth East and the finishing of two class rooms in present building and erecting an' addition consisting of lockers, dressing room and gymnasium to Madison school at 2465 South State street. Check for 5 per cent with bids. Miles E. Miller, Boston building, Salt Lake City, of company Boise, Idaho, are low bidders on Idaho graveled surfaced projects being let by bureau of public roads as follows: Sections 1 and 2 of Salmon- Montana line,, bid $116,953.31. Section 3, Salmon-Montan- a line, bid McCall-NeMeadows highway, h Morrison-Knudse- n $153,-383.5- 0. w bid $99,861.06. Engineers estimate on the first project was $134,000.00 (approx.), on the second, $150,223.30, and on the third, $109,936.30. Award will be made this week. Hollerbach Contracting company of Boise have been awarded contract to construct Emmett branch of Payette highway in Freeze Out Hill in Gem county, Idaho, on a bid of $16,868.75. Proposed bond issue of $475,000 for improvements at Pocatello, Idaho, was defeated April 8th by a large majority. The Wasatch forest has received an allotment from the government of $15,750 for completion of Upper Provo river road to Mirror lake and it is almost certain that the Forest Service will let this contract this year. County commissioners of Weber county have voted to give $1,000 to Riverdale to assist in purchase of cement for sidewalk in the town to be constructed parallel to the state Third Precinct Civic Improvement association of this city have approached the city commission to ask that extensive curb and guttering be done at once from Fourth to Eighth West and from North Temple to Fourth North streets. The association was informed that city engineers office is at present drawing up plans and specifications for this work. Members of American Falls Irrigation District, Idaho, are sending a delegation to Washington to urge immediate construction of proposed canal from Milner dam on the Snake river to the main canal of the Big Wood river system. State Road Commission of Utah announce that construction of 12 miles a of highway between Richfield and will be done this year and will be advertised for letting at once. Sa-lin- Salt Lake City Board of Education is considering the erection of an assembly room to seat 250 at Wasatch school and an addition consisting of six class rooms and an assembly room for Emercon school. Plans and specifications have been drawn up and are awaiting final approval. Cost of Wasatch school work is estimated at $23,500 and work at Emerson school is estimated at $54,000. Headlund & Watkins, Salt Lake architects, announce that addiitons and alterations to Bank of American Fork at American Fork involving an expenditure of $20,000 are contemplated as well as the erection of a residence for Washburn S. Chipman to cost $12,000. . A site has been selected for new high school building to be erected at Eden, Idaho. $30,000 bond issue was recently passed for purpose of erecting this building. C. A. Sundberg, architect of Rexburg, Idaho, has been engaged. Continental Oil company is planning to erect storage tanks and a warehouse of unknown cost at Emmet, Idaho. The site is on Washington avenue. Plans are ready for Ogden High school building and call for bids is about to be made by Weber county board of education. A new brick and stucco depot is to be built by the U. P. at Morgan, Utah, and this will involve other improvements consisting of erection of stock-yardsidewalk and paving to a total expenditure of approximately s, ber assets, with 5,225,335,000 feet in national forests. Midwest and Utah Southern Oil reports Cane Creek well, San Juan county, with 2,000 barrels daily. Milford 200,000 sheep to be seared near here, with wool prices 32 to 36 cents. Kaysville Kaysville Canning corporation has 300,000 tomato plants to set out. Kaysville Buffalo Island Livestock company sells its 400 bison to South Dakota fanciers. Herd will be moved to Dakota next fall. Milford Beaver Valley Oil company will spud in prospect well north of town. Moab Shafer No. 1 gas well on Colorado river blows out casing and runs wild. Provo Christian Science church, costing $115,000 well under way. Provo Nation, state and city to unite in paving North University street. Western States Development company will drill three .prospect wells this season. Nephi Forrest hotel lets contract for $40,000 addition. Maud Ellen Oil company Vernal starts drilling on Neal dome, five miles from town. Calneville Ohio Oil company will resume drilling in 3,000-foo- t prospect hole. e Delta alfalfa seed farm sold for $200 an acre. Moab Western States Development company will drill on Gibson oil dome, 50 miles southwest. Petroleum Deseret Monticello company will drill on Indian Creek It is reported that plans. and specifi- cations for proposed Masonic Temple building to be erected on site on East South Temple street this city, at an approximate cost of $1,000,000 are ready and that bids will be called at once. Scott & Welch, Dooly building, are the architects. Vernal Bids to be asked on grading and surfacing seven miles of road, and surveying ten Vernal-Manila miles of road. Eureka Development in progress on 500 foot level of Copper Leaf shaft, of Central Standard Mines company. Spanish Fork Silver Gold Mining company files articles of incorporation, with $50,000 capital. Provo Four blocks of paving on North University avenue will cost $27,000. Salt Lake City Utah Light & Traction company will spend $250,000 in construction this year. Salt Lake City Additions to South Junior High school will cost $165,000.
