One of the best musical comedies ever presented in this city is now playing the Salt Lake theatre. It surely is a real treat to be entertained by such a magnificent cast of stellar players. Beautiful girls in artistic dance numbers, dressed in expensive costumes especially designed to blend with each wearer draws admiration from everyone in the audience. But when it comes to comedians those who have seen this show are still laugh-- ' ing; they laugh till they cry and then Wsome more. It is the right kind of a play staged in the right kind of a manner, and there is nothing lacking to please the eye, being a show which the people are unwilling to leave. It is a thrilling love story originating on the high seas and ending among the icebergs of the Arctic circle. Storm beaten and wrecked ships in all the fury of the storm are so naturally shown upon the screen that one imagines they are standing on the beach witnessing the catastrophe. But no matter how fierce the storm, or what the locality, true love is born under all conditions and it wins in the end. bill is The Wandering Gomez and Gomez, Gypsies. They hammer out pleasing music from their zylophones with artistry and render some of the classics to popular applause. They know how to play. Beginning the vaudeville setting represents the Alps. The Wo- man can go no further while the roan is anxious to ascend to the topmost peak and their honeymoon is spoiled by the usual backbiting and arguments but as usual the girl wins. Baker and Gray, a pair of girls, dark and blonde, pretty flappers, cut up enough hilarity to last one for the evening. The dark girl is a good singer, while blondie has more fun in her than a circus clown and with her continual chatter keeps the crowd laughing. They are a pair of real en. . BERYL GRAY of Baker and Gray at Pantages This Week Schichtls Maironettes in Mechani- cal Marvels is a revelation in the manipulation of mechanical figures representing men, women, acrobats, the wizard and dragon. A skeleton is made to appear and perform various stunts by a wizard, and then dis tertainers. In the last act, the theatre orches- tra is excused, for Gell Mann's Band Box has its own orchestra, and it is some orchestra. Ruitz and Sonita are featured. A violin solo gets a big encore.
