ENGINEERING The weekly report of engineering and building construction is announced by the Associated General Contractors of America, and is as follows: Bids will be received by district engineer, Bureau of Public Roads, Kiesel building, Ogden, Utah, up to 9 a. m. July 9, for construction of Warren wagon road (Secesh Summit Burgdorf section), located within Idaho National Forest, County of Idaho, State of Idaho. Project is 8.93 miles in length and consists of following quantities: Clearing 65 acres; grubbing 22 acres; excavation (rock) 8,640 yards; excavation (common), 30,400 yards; excavation (structure), 360 yards; overhaul, 5,000 yards; finishing, 8.93 miles; corrugated metal pipe, 1,580 linear feet; log culberts, 90 linear feet; log bridges with laminated floors, 3; log cribbing 0 2,500 square feet; furrow ditch, linear feet. Explosives furnished by state. Equipment can be rented from state. Plans and specifications from above for $10. Check for 5 per cent with all bids. Bids will also be received by the above at the same place for construction (widening and surfacing) of Warm River, Yellowstone National Forest Road Project, located within Targhee National Forest, Fremont County, State of Idaho. Length of project is 21.4 miles and the principal quantities are as follows: Clear25,-20- acre; grubbing! acre; excavation (common) 25,915 yards; excavation (rock) 3,400 yards; fine grading subgrade and shoulders 15.0 miles; gravel for top course (hauling, spreading and dragging) 79,650 cubic yards mile; stripping pit, screening and loading 29,500 cyds; corrugated metal pipe 196 linear ft.; explosives furnished by state. Equipment for rental from state. The latter includes 6 Packard trucks with ing 1 3 cubic yards steel dump bodies and hydraulic hoists at rental of $15 per day each. Plans and specifications from above for $10. Check for 5 per cent with bids. Bids will be received by the city recorder, Provo, Utah, up to 10 a. m. July 7th, for grading and constructing curb and gutter and concrete pavement in Paving District No. 17, on University avenue, between First North and Second North and between Third South and Sixth South. Plans from city engineer for $5. Bids have been called by State Road Commission of Utah for construction of the Myton-Antelograveled surfaced highway i nine miles in length. Bids will be opened at office of Commission 2 p. m. July 10th. The Bureau of Public Roads has awarded contract for construction of Salmon-Montan- a Road, 6.6 miles in length, to W. S. Craven of Ogden on his bid of $147,000. pe i J. L. Griffith company of this city has been awarded contract to construct sewer 1200 feet along Fifth East, this city. Bid $780. Extensive street improvements are being planned at Provo, Utah, and the city is making arrangements to purchase a large amount of construction machinery at once. H. LeRoy Larson, contractor, has been awarded contract for constructing large water main in the city of Roosevelt, Utah. BUILDING CONSTRUCTION. A telegram from the Griffin Wheel Company, Chicago, Illinois, to the secretary states that award of contract on proposed local plant has been unavoidably delayed, but will be made in the course of a week. Bird Finlayson of Pocatello has been awarded contract to erect court house in Reclamation Addition at American Falls, Idaho, his bid being $27,500. Contract for the plumbing went to M. A. Wortman of American Falls. Bids are to be opened this date on work on addition to attic floor of Tintic mines have paid large sums of money in dividends according to the Eureka Reporter. It is a record of which any mining camp ought to be proud of and includes the Tintic Standard, the largest silver producing mine of the country today. Claud Ashworth, architect of Provo, Utah, announces that plans are ready for proposed elaborate bandstand to be erected at Provo. The structure will be 38 by 25 feet in dimension, and will have a concrete base. The city commission has approved the plans. The Hagerman High School at Buhl, Idaho, has been totally destroyed by fire, wtih a .loss of about $30,-00a brick structure on 23rd St. and ture was of brick, and will be rebuilt 0, at once. The Utah County and Provo City Commissioners are advertising for bids for the completion of the city and county building at Provo. Part of this property was formerly the Lower Mammoth, from which mine much ore has been extracted. The Iron King has started to ship ore and the mine looks good for fu- ture results. PARK CITY The Utah Blue-Sk- y law is a detriment to the state and according to the Park City Record, that under its operation it is not believed that there will be any important expansion of initial mining effort.
