Show THE CITIZEN 8 character roles In Artists and Models, and his old soldier skit was also introduced, and scored a hit. . CIONINGEIl TO PRESENT CORIANTON AT WILKES . Playgoers are in for a rare theatrical treat next week when Ralph Cloninger again presents Corianton, the massive and spectacular drama taken from the Book of Mormon by Orestus Utah Bean, with a cast of more than 200 hundred people. The first performance will be given tomorrow night and the play will be continued all week, with matinees Thursday and Saturday. Beatiful ballets, massive scenic ' - -- -- set-mus- ic and aetaoinetaoinCroibtB.ta tings, elaborate costumes, alluring music and a spectacular drill of soldiers enliven the action of this stupendous undertaking. Last Years production of the play by Mr. Cloninger amazed playgoers and this years presentation is heralded as even bigger and better than last. Pretty dancers under the direction of L. P. Christensen of the Christensen Dancing Academy have been rehearsing for some time and will pro- vide gorgeous classical dances. Norman Martin of Curg Petersons orchestra at the Wilkes, has been rehearsing the chorus for some time and has the vocal part of the entertainment well in hand. The story of Corianton is too well known to repeat in detail. Needles to say it is full of gripping drama having to do with the wanderings of this son of the high priest. How he is vamped by Zoan and at last is claimed by Relia, his first sweetheart, provides a sweet romance. Theatre goers who saw the original pronounce the Cloninger production to be far superior in beauty and action and it packed the crowds in for two solid weeks last year. While it is to be played for only a week this time Mr. Cloninger believes that the presentation will have all the drawing power that it did last year and if Salt Lake playgoers avail themselves of seats the first part of the week, conference visitors can be accommodated the last half. Alluring incidental music written especially for the Cloninger production makes it sparkle. Mr. Cloninger will again be seen in the title role while Miss Anne Berryman will essay the role of Zoan this year while Miss Norma Deane will play the role of Relia. Other roles will be well cast. In addition to the principals an army of others add to the action and color of the spectacle. Mr. Cloninger arranged for the pre sentation of Corianton next week because of the influx of conference visitors who did not get to see the play last year. It is a story of seven persons who find themselves on board a ship bound for unknown shores. They are' all dead, yet they are able to walk about and discuss their unique position in an uncanny manner. It is a play which delivers a knockout punch to suicide and is an unusual production of the stage, yet very popular and one in which the people become entirely rapped up and like. Victor Jory takes the part of the Rev. Duke in an able manner. George the Rev. Cleveland impersonates Thompson, a role to his liking.
