W.C. .A club house at 3 oclock Wednesday afternoon. Miss Prisk accompanied Mrs. Scott Jones in the vocal numbers rendered by the latter, and Mrs. F. M. McHugh read "The Twelve Pound Look by Barrie. Sharp, chairman of the Republican County Committee with head- quarters in the Kenyon hotel, an- nounces that the Republican district canvas will begin Monday morning. Workers with their canvas books will be sent into every district of the county and the work will be completed as soon as possible. Chairman Sharp says that judging from a test canvas taken here and there of doubtful districts shows them overwhelmingly Republican and he confidently believes that the Republicans will carry this county by a large majority. Auditor Alvin Keddington warns the city dads to stop their sprint in expenditures because at the present pace they will contract a deficit of over $75,000. The communication or notice was served upon Herman H. Green, head of the finance department, who will officially notify the other commissioners that they must curtail expenditures between now and the first of the year. City Miss Gladys Fuller was the guest of honor at a box party at the Wilkes theatre last Wednesday night. The party was arranged by the members of Miss Fuller's club. Miss L. Greer and Miss F.
