To see all the scenic attractions surrounding this city will take ourist many days, and the camera fiend can find here sub-o- f unusual interest. The Great Salt lake, which supplies the e west with salt, is one of our big attractions. Saltair beach, e the largest dancing pavilion of the world is located, is among 's most attractive summer resorts. There is only one street in this town, about ten long and the residences and business houses are built along side of the street and a great number of them are built over a A an dsupported by large piles driven into the ground. Many of jiouses are built on the steep hillsides and at a glance appear a village of clift dwellers homes. E f ' . WORKING OVERTIME In this day and age there is always somebody that is trying to put something over. In Washington the lobbyists work by day and dream by night over pet schemes they wish to push through. Big government projects arc nearly always the invention of some promoter possessing a vivid brain and a money getter. The solicited hearing is the most difficult task before him. Once he can secure a hearing, he can make those listening believe that he is able to turn solid lead into pure gold. The people who pay for the projects never reap any. benefits, as all such courtesies are reserved for the ones controlling the projects. The time was when politics was solely charged with graft. Once the lesson learned, it did not take long before illigitimatc and unlawful means were introduced into business, and today the country stands at the brink of a great. menace.. The entire country is torn with political scandals alleged to have originated at the nation's 'capital, and in turn federal officers arc arresting business men the country over for the unlawful fixing of food prices and the regulation of business. Grocers association has been charged with criminal The Utah-Idah- o business methods, and the grocers association of California has also been charged with a similar offense. According to the complaints filed, the members and officers of such organizations make the people pay exorbitant prices and keep others out of business. It is simply and purely a ring to control, which lives and exists secretly for and openly and publicly as a benefactor of the citizens in the community under its jurisdiction. It appears that the people have gone money mad. The dollar has been raised above religion, respect, and has made, of the individual there would be no fear a moral coward. Take awav the dollar and . . in the world. People arc beginning to sacrifice everything they hold dear for the dollar. As the common saying is, people. go to church on Sunday to pray to God, and on the following six days of the week . selfish-motives- irther south we come to American Fork canyon, one of Tnost ragged and beautiful canyons that can be found in the 'vest.
