Mrs. Henry Welsh and Mrs. Elizabeth J. OBrien presided at the tea table. Chairman Mrs. Arthur J. Kelly of the entertainment committee and members assisted in serving. Mrs. A. A. Buffington, executive secretary of the Associated Charities, gave a short talk on Christmas Carols, followed by the singing of car- ols by St. Marys Glee club. The St Marks Guild gave an entertainment in the church Friday, luncheon being served from 12 to 1 p. m. Among those on the committee on arrangements were Mrs. F. A. Community orchestra of Salt Lake City held its regular rehearsal in the council chamber of the City and County building last Sunday. A large group of amateur members spent an hour and a half in hard and insistent practice. Leader Clarence Hawkins is delighted with the turnout and is preparing a program for the Christmas cheer week. The orchestra will effect its permanent organization next Sunday at the same hour and the officers then will formulate plans for the giving of a community orchestra concert at an early spring date. Word has been received at Fort Douglas that Colonel and Mrs. W. T. Neely will be at home soon in the quarters recently vacated by Captain and Mrs. O. J. Langtry. KLB CLUB PLANS BAZAAR FOR CHRISTMAS FUNDS The Kle club will give a bridge and mah-jong- g party, also a dancing party in the evening at the American Dansante next Tuesday, December 11, commencing at 2 p.m. The entertainment is given to raise funds for the purpose of helping crippled children of all creeds, classes and colors. The Kle club centers all its activities for this worthy cause. The features in the afternoon will be a country store together with special booths containing fancy work, aprons, dolls, handkerchiefs, cake and candy. Many valuable articles will be placed on sale which will make appropriate Christmas gifts, and there are many useful articles that can be used in the home. The public is cordially invited to support this worthy cause. Reservations for bridge may be made by calling any of the ticket committee. At a meeting of the auxiliary unit of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, post 409, officers and trustees were elected. Mrs. F. M .Colson was chosen president of the unit.; Mrs. Sailor GitscQ?-seniovice president, and Mrs. Matilda Anderson, junior vice president. Mrs. Maude Love was selected as treasurer and Mrs. Louise Wordington as historian. Mrs. T. R. Holden and Mrs. P .J. Adams were elected trustees. Two committees were appointed to carry out the Christmas plans of the organization. To provide a suitable men in gift for families of need, Mrs. F. M. Colson, Mrs. Pearl Constanino, Mrs. Laura Williams and Mrs. Mabel Flandro were chosen. The second committee, consisting of Mrs. Albert L. Larsen, Mrs. E. R. Holden, Mrs. Edith McGregor and Miss Marion Johnson, will look after the men in the hospitals, penitentiary and ex-servi- ce ex-servi- ce jails. Mr. and Mrs. E. O. M Mrs McCrea, first vice president; John Aylett, second vice president, and Mrs. D. N. Straup, Mrs. Justin R. Davis and Mrs. T. D. Lewis on the board of directors. The president will apoint the secretary and treasurer in a few days. The meeting was addressed by Mrs. W. D. Martin, an attorney from Los Angeles.
