MACMILLAN ATTACKS LAVISH EXTRAVAGANCE OF OFFICIALS Before he launched forth into his epoch making speech at the Salt Lake theatre Friday night, Herbert R. MacMillan devoted a few minutes to denouncing Clarence Neslen, Herman Green and T. T. Burton for their extravagance with the peoples money. They have gone so far as to pub-ls- h statements in the neswpapers that give figures which certified accountants have found to be far from true. It has been said in charity, that perhaps the commissioners and the mayor did not know that the figures were un- 7 JIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIH1IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIU In the Selection of Your INVESTMENTS true. But I am not disposed to be so easy with them. They do know. Herman Green had quite a reputation as a public accountant at the time he was elected to the auditors office. He was auditor of the city accounts, and he knows. Mayor Neslen, too, knows. He has an object in giving out the statements to the press which have appeared over his name and that object is not, evidently to tell the whole truth as a gcod servant of the people should do. From the hearty applauce given Mr. MacMillans remarks it was evident the big audience which filled the theatre from pit to roof were in hearty agreement with him.
