Mrs. Lloyd Weeter and baby daughter have left for a few weeks stay in the east. Mrs. Van Swearingen, once a Salt Laker, now makes her home in California and is at present building a very beautiful house at Carmel by the Sea. . 4 4 4 Mrs. 0. W. Powers, formerly of Salt Lake, was the honored guest at a bridge tea given on Monday by Mrs. J. M. Bidwell, Mrs. Woodward and Miss Woodward. Bridge was played at three tables during the afternoon and later many of Mrs. Powers old friends came in for tea. r 4 4 4 Mrs. Ben Siegel and small son have .returned from Chicago, where Mrs. Siegel has been visiting her mother, The Siegels have recently moved and are now living at 1263 Second avenue.. 4 4 4 Last Saturday night Mrs. John V. Lyle gave a small dinner for Mrs. Hugh H. Van Swearingen, who has been a visitor here for the past week. Mr. B. B. Thayer of New York, of the Anaconda Copper company, was in Salt Lake last week on his way to Butte. vice-preside- . nt 4 4 4 The H. H. During the late hours of Sunday afternoon several friends enjoyed a tea given by Miss Anna McComick for Mrs. C. W. Whitley. 4 4 4 Mrs. D. T. Richard, formerly Gladys McConaughy, and her two children, are leaving Sunday for Fort Bliss, Texas, to join Major Richard, who is stationed there. 4-- Mrs. Joe Nibley had .a few friends in to say goodbye to Mrs. Lloyd Weeter Monday afternoon. 4 4 4 Mr. and Mrs. San Francisco. 4 C. C. Brooks are in 4 4 4 Miss Nell Calvin is spending a few Mr. and Mrs. James Hogle. will spend the week end in Park City as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Friendly. 4 4 4 The Cecil Fitches of Eureka were in Salt Lake Monday and Tuesday days with her sister, Mrs. George Lawrence. 4 4 4 A number of friends were invited Sunday evening to enjoy the charming hospitality of the Waldemar Van Mrs. Lloyd Weeter 4 4 4 Mrs. Fred Cowans and Mrs. J. F. 4 4 4 4 4 4 Cotts, who entertained at a supper at their home in honor of Mrs. C. W. Whitley. During the evening the guests played mah jongg, the game which is spreading like an epidemic and is played after luncheon and dinners everywhere, almost superceding bridge in its popularity. Judge are in Los Angeles. 4 4 4 Miss Barbara Kinnersley is giving a tea Saturday afternoon on the roof garden of the Utah hotel. 4 4 4 The Russell Richards have a daughter, much to the delight, of all concerned. 4 4 4 Mrs. N. M. Hamilton left Thursday for Los Angeles. 4 4 4 Mrs. Carl Eilers of New York enter- tained at lunch for twelve at the Alta club on Tuesday. 4 4 4 This has been a busy week for Miss Edna Dunn, who is to become the bride of Thompson Rains on SatTuesday, night Mrs. urday night.
