Ore that was dumped as waste and of too low a grade to transport to the smelter is today being worked over profitably at the Scotia mine, and the Eureka Reporter says that about fifty tons of ore are taken out of the old Stocks are beginning to move again on the Salt Lake Stock Exchange, and the improvement is credited to the better metal market and the general bright outlook of Utah mining conditions. The Emma Silver has been having a big run on Its stock on account of the recent strike of high grade ore. There is also a tendency to turn towards mining stocks at the present time on account of switching the silver market from London to New York City. It must be remembered that the silver price has been fixed in London heretofore, but from now on we will do a little fixing ourselves. Prices of stocks in general are aimless with no definite fixed values as to their real worth. European conditions of course has something to do with it, but on the whole, this country is sailing along with a steady stroke and upsets are not feared in the least, regardless of what conditions may prove to be across the pond. This country has the big advantage over all other world powers because we stand on a sound money basis, while many of the other leading powers rely upon their printers to grind out enough paper with which to do business. This paper money is not secured by either gold or silver and has little or no value in this country. NEW STRIKE. Ore discovery in virgin territory of the Mammoth mine has caused a stir in the camp. The new find is entirely away from the ore zone, as it was thought, and from present indications the body is a very large one. The ore runs about $50 per ton. HOLDING OUT. Ore is still being taken out of the new strike at the Iron Blossom, the price of which is going around $100 per ton, the ore carrying gold, silver, lead and copper. RAM SALE. The eighth annual national ram sale which this year was held at the Union Stockyards, North Salt Lake, proved a big success. Sheepmen from all west-- , ern states were in attendance and all replenished their herds by purchasing some of the blooded stock, some of the rams going for nearly a thousand dollars each. Many were sold for $400 each, and where pens were purchased the price went as low as $50 per head. Range rams were sold from $100 to $200 per head. , EVANS & EARLY Funeral Directors 48 South 8tate 8treet Telephone Wasatch 5516 .
