Marie Spencer. - A luncheon was given Saturday by Mrs. Arthur Burrows and her daughter, Mrs. Jay Charon, at the home of South Eleventh East street, in honor of Miss Smith. Mrs. Burrows, 1044 announces the marriage of her daughter Helen, to Charles Gordon Douglas. The marriage took place Monday afternoon at the home of the brides mother on Fifth avenue and was witnessed by members of the two families. The ceremony was performed by Very Itev. Dean W. W. Fleetwood of St. Marks cathedral, and there were no attendants. The bride wore a modish going away suit of navy blue with straw turban of blue and white, with blouse to match. Mr. Douglas and his bride left on a late afternoon train for los Angeles, where they will spend their honeymoon and after June 10 will be at home in Salt Lake. Mrs. D. J. Sharp 13 - - Miss Mary Marshall, whose marriage to Walter Fitch, Jr., will take place early in June at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, was the honor guest Tuesday afternoon at a tea given by Miss Margaret Walker at her home on East South Temple street. The house was decorated throughout with lilacs and ileur de lis, and eighty guests were bidden. Season Saturday. Mrs. Horstman was formerly Miss Pearl Van Cott and since her marriage has macfe her home at The Hague. Air. and Mrs. Walter Lewis enter- tained a dozen close friends at a dinner Tuesday evening at the Country club in honor of Mrs. Ernest Greene-bauof Chicago, who is the guest of Mrs. Charles Ira Tuttle.
