Show 12 THE CITIZEN Revue De La VRS ARTHUR H. S. BIRD presided over a delightful luncheon Monday afternoon at the Rotisserie in honor of Mrs. F. C. Schramm, who passed a few days in Salt Lake before returning to Portland, Ore., where she is spending several months with her mother, who has been ill. Fifteen guests were invited to meet Mrs. Schramm, who during her brief stay was the motif for several smart social affairs. Af MR. AND MRS. JAMES H. WAT-EJR- S entertained more than 100 guests Monday evening at a prettily e arranged dinner dance at the hotel in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Curtin F. Parr of Denver, who are speding the holidays here, and also in compliment to Mrs. C. 0. Dee of Oakland, Cal., who is a holiday guest in Salt Lake. Dinner was served from small tables arranged about the sides of the ballroom and the centerpieces were worked out in a crimson and d green decorative scheme, with carnations and ferns effecNew-hous- cherry-colore- tively combined. The host and hostess were assisted during the evening by Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Sutton, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Shay and Dr. and Mrs. J. H. Davis. of the basket. Four mission candle- sticks held red candles. Presiding at the table were Mrs. J. C. Lynch, Mrs. Elizabeth OBrien, Mrs. Olive Gaylord and Mrs. M. E. Callahan. Assisting in serving were Miss Mary Lynch, Miss Margaret OBrien, Miss Mary Dooly, Miss Florence Sullivan, Miss Gertrude Geoghegan, Miss Kathleen Geoghegan, Miss Margaret Falk and Miss Genevieve OConnor. Vocal selections were given by Miss Anna Daily. Violin and piano numbers were given by Miss Lucile Jenkins and Miss Veronica Jenkins. About two hundred were in attendance. Mary-of-the-Wood- s, trimmed in sequins and pearls. The wedding veil was caught with pearls and orange blossoms. She carried bride roses. The matron of honor, Mrs. William J. Smith, a sister of the bride, was gowned in light blue panne The velvet, trimmed in gold lace. flower girls, Ruth Smith and Jeanette White, nieces of the bride, wore white tulle over pink satin and carried pink rosebuds in baskets. James L. White was best man. The brides mother wore gray georgette crepe over blue satin, embroidered in bronze beads. Mrs. Joseph Lustig of Denver, mother of the bridegroom, wore black lace, trimmed in S I activity chapter of Beta THE Pi fraternity at the University of Utah gave its annual formal dancing party Monday evening at the Ladies Literary club. The reception room was attractively decorated with the fraternity colors and on the punch table was a large crystal basket filled with deep red roses tied with tulle of the same shade. White, 53 Hillcrest apartments, and Samuel Lustig of Denver took place at the Hotel Utah at 5 oclock Tuesday afternoon. The ceremony was performed by Dr. William Rice in the presidents suite. The couple left in the evening fora wedding trip through the northwest. They will make their home in Denver. 'C'OLLO WIN G the regular meeting of the Catholic Womens League Tuesday night at the Ladies Literary club a reception was given in honor of the speaker of the evening, the Rev. Dr. James H. Ryan of St. Indiana. A light supper was served in the library of the club house. A cluny cover was over red satin on the supper table. A wicker basket was filled with red berries. Red toy balloons were attached to the handle a Grafonola ap- pearance, at the Ladies Literary club Friday afternoon, of Miss Anne Morgan, who came to Salt Lake in the interest of reconstruction work in France. Miss Morgan addressed the club preceding the regular meeting. The remainder of the program for the afternoon included an address by Professor Levi Edgar Young of the University of Utah on The New Europe: a Study of Contemporaneous History. English folk dances will be given by pupils of the University .of Utah, under the direction of Mrs. Edna Evans Johnson. Ernest Ashton Smith at her home on Second avenue Wednesday afternoon in honor of Miss Dorothy Bailey, a January bride. A rose luncheon set was used on the table.
